As I suspected what hubby got in his payrise they have taken off the tax credits.. The child benefit is still more and the carers allowance is a few coppers higher but other than that we are on the same income this year as we were last year only we have higher council tax, fuel costs and food bills.. best sell more stuff on ebay!!

I have not paid the people I had planned too this week because the children are off shcool and I am refilling the cupboards every 2 minutes.. they are locusts I swear!! I am so glad I don't home educate.. at least the school provides one meal a day which takes some of the pressure off my pocket. the school meals are free here for ALL primary school children which is brilliant.. these lot certainly get their fair share!!

I am considering maybe getting some paid employment.. I just can't decide what! I don't want to work in a horrible busy shop.. supermarkets I can't walk round without wanting to kill people so I think I need somewhere nice and peaceful.. a florist for example.. maybe a specialist shop where only a select few come in.. I'll keep thinking and watching out for a good offer.. BHS is sounding appealing.. I do like it in there.. plus I just found out the other day one of their main buyers used to be in my brothers class at school.. small world eh?

I am now off for a nice long soak in the bath.. with a lush bath bomb I got for christmas and a cuppa.. and my MP3 player... bliss!!

Well done on the debts decreasing, i am clearing ours too, 2 years in of clearing about 30k....down to the last debt nearly. NEXT is cleared next week, with only....less than 700.00 to go. Totaly get what you meen about getting excited clearing it. Been so skint since the begging of the year due to tax credits being stopped but they started again this week thank god. will be debt free at the end of May..ish.
Dont forget if you get a job careres allowance lets you earn 87.00 per week, not a penny more or it stops...and tax credits go down.

Well hope all is well :)

Ok Pigpen, did that BBQ kill you off  ? Just a bit worried here that all the feeding of three thousand might have finished you off... Hope your BBQ went well.

LOL.. no the BBQ didn't quite manage to kill me off.. though I did guzzle almost a full bottle of vodka to myself! All the children were great.. not a bit of bother, all played nicely together which was a bonus. My SIL drank herself silly and ended up in A&E .. families are such fun!!

I have another £20 paid off my mortgage and reduced my freemans to £350. My abbey C/C also has an available balance for the first time in months.. I am reducing the credit limit on that now so it isn't available to tempt me. Next batch of payments will be made on Wednesday.. Studio cards!!!

    Updated the siggy strip...

    Now.. £16532!!!!!!

I can't believe how fast this is actually reducing now I am making a concerted effort.

the bank charges claim is just over £4000 so that will pay off the overdraft.. then we will be living in the black again!!! I can't wait!!!

I haev £150 on mine and hubby's pigsback.. £25 this month to come from quidco.. I can't believe how much these little things help!!

Well.. Not had a good month.. I've had loads of stuff to buy for SIL's wedding.. I HAD to do a couple of fairly substantial tesco shops.. then.. I got the gas/electric bill in.. £677!!!!! .. SO.. my overall debt has increased by £400.. BUT.. I have actually paid a lot of it off as I was going along so it is only a £400 increase.. so I can't complain too much.

I still have a few more things I need to pay this month but most can wait until the tax credits go in next week.. I'll meet minimum payments then concentrate on paying a bit more I think.. 9 to pay.. thankfully most are no more than about £20 a month.. phew!

Mortgage is paid though.. and the council tax.. and the credit cards.. and the phone bills..and the damn student loan.. I REALLY want rid of that!! .. just over £2000 left on that though so not 'too' traumatic.

House and life insurances are coming out tomorrow, the bank loan is too and I have £60 to pay for the girls and myself having our eyebrows and nails done for the wedding... I'll be SO glad when this infernal wedding is over and done with!!!.. how come someone elses wedding has probably cost me more than my own one did??

ETA... Oh, I have a few things that are being returned to the catalogue which I've not accounted for either so that should reduce the amount soemwhat too.. always a bonus.. bet I ended up right back where I started at the beginning of this month lol!!
