Oh I want all the Balance Me stuff, I hope i can find them all at the weekend, I was thinking about buying eye cream only the other day!
My SSB arrived - I wont post what was in as that's already been done lots, I was satisfied with it I guess, nice to have different things. I like it's Jolie and Amarya next, Amarya might even make it first at the rate Jolie is going - so not interested in it I wish I could just send it back for a refund! You'd think they'd be falling over themselves offering everyone a discount or a slight refund or something to make up for the delay. I guess it shows even they dont care about their birthday!!No buying un-necessary toiletries challenge - Start total: 235. Current total: 273!!0 -
Latest in Beauty are doing free delivery on their luxury samples and full sized items until Sunday
"Free delivery applies to all luxury and private shop orders when code JULY4 is applied. Offer ends Sunday July 8th 2012."
Go forth and enjoy :-)
I emailed a few of the companies that the luxury samples are from and they were more than happy to send them out to me for nothing0 -
Argh typical! It's my day off today so wont be going to a shop to get my glamour mags & balance me samples! Hopefully there'll be lots left tomorrow :0)
I got my Luxbox today. Spoliers below in white :money:
First Aid Beauty - Daily face cream 30ml (£7.50) Not really suited to me so I will probably give this to my son
Green People - Eco eye trio - Earth shade Full size (£18.40) Quite nice I guess? Not really my colours though
Murad - Time release blemish cleanser (£5.50) EXACTLY the same item as I got in my SSB box yesterday - meh
Kelly Edwards Skincare - Exfoliating cream 15ml (works out about £4)
Delicious teeth - teeth cleanser 100ml (£3.99) I'll give it a go but I don't know if it'll be good enough to switch me from Colgate & Blanx *shrug*
All in all a bit underwhelmed with this box... Hope you guys are happy with it, if you get it x0 -
Hi fairydust, I got my LuxBox today, and am delighted with it. Reasons why:
The first item I noticed was the Tooth Cleanser (100ml), I got Sicilian Lemon, which appeals to me. I don't get excited normally about tooth-paste, but think this will appeal to my daughter (aged 8) too.
I then picked up the eco eye trio. I'm really tanned at the moment, and haven't worn browns for a while, but the more I look at it, will be just perfect for me for the summer, as will create a lovely shimmery (but natural) effect, there are 3 different shades in lovely metallic hues. Its great to try an organic mineral eyeshadow, so a big thumbs up from me.
Murad-Time Release Blemish Cleanser, I had one in SSB, but am happy to have another, as my skins very oily at the moment.
The First Aid beauty face cream looks fab, and is free of nasties such as Phthlates, and Parabens.
Kelly Edwards Exfoliating Cream, always useful, but I love skincare products.
Despite previous misgivings, I will continue to subscribe to Lux, as their boxes have always delighted. So looks like I will be canceling Jolie (which I still haven't received), as do not want to pay for more than 2 regular subscriptions.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -

Pleased to hear you were happy with yours! :T I wasn't unhappy with mine, just loved yesterdays SSB box, this one wasn't so exciting, but still ok none the less
EDIT TO ADD - Anyone get their Joliebox today?! Mine goes to work & it's my day off today x0 -
I don't know if anyone is interested, but this is the email I sent to Glossybox about their terrible men's box and the meh response I got:
ME TO GLOSSYBOX
"I am a relatively new customer to Glossybox. Based on the ladies' box that I received, I decided to purchase a subscription to the Men's box as a gift for a friend.
I cannot understate how disappointed I am with the box that I received.
I understand that this is a sampling service, however the ladies' boxes always prove to be good value regardless of suitability...why is this not the case with the men's service? The RRP value of the items in the Men's summer box doesn't even reach 10 pounds. It is not even giftworthy as they are at best travel (rather than deluxe) sized. I'd be embarrassed for my friend to receive this box and look up how much I paid for it. Why is there such a vast difference between the value of the items in the box and the cost? I'm sure Glossybox don't pay RRP for the products (and hope that the suppliers/sponsors do not pay to have their products included in the box), so the premium that Glossybox are charging men for the privilege of trialling these products is huge.
But that's not all! As you know, Glossybox actually charge more for the
Men's boxes and I can't work out why! Why charge 50% more (than ladies) for a service where men receive significantly less? The box I received was sponsored by a single supplier, so it's not as if Glossybox had to do much work curating the box.
I've only been able to find negative reviews of this box on the internet
and intend to unsubscribe from this service. I think it's a shame that
Glossybox Men seems to provide a much better service elsewhere in the
world. I intend to unsubscribe from this service. I can't see that many
people will wait 3 months to potentially feel disappointed and fleeced
again.
I think it's important for Glossybox to receive this feedback and invite
your response."
GLOSSYBOX TO ME
"Thank you for contacting GLOSSYBOX.
We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the box we sent you, we have passed on your comments to the brands team for their consideration when planning future boxes.
We can appreciate that you may find it disappointing that the total amount of the products we sent do not add up to £15 however we must stress that we do not charge customers for products, we charge customers for the service we provide.
If you do not wish to keep your box please send it, unused, to;
GLOSSYBOX
13a North Audley Street
London
W1K 6ZA
Please note, as per our Terms and Conditions, GLOSSYBOX do not reimburse additional P+P charges for returns.
We charge our GLOSSYBOX for Men subscribers £5 more as our GLOSSYBOX beauty as we send 7 products instead of 5 once every 3 months.
Thank you for taking the time to email us with your feedback."
I think it's interesting to note their stance that we are not buying any products from them, only a service. Oh so kind that they will 'let' me send it back - since distance selling regulations means they have to anyway!
I intend to respond and say why are they not providing the 7 luxury sized samples that are advertised on their website and following their logic, since they are not charging for the product, why do they charge men more for 7 products when it is the service we are paying for? I don't want to keep up too much correspondence with them, but want to get an answer.
I think they would have done better to send out some more samples or offer a free box rather than take this kind of stance.0 -
Actually - I can't be bothered with being polite with them. The box/service is not as described. I've sent them a screengrab of their website which states they provide 7 deluxe sized samples. I've asked for full refund of the cost of the box and both sets of postage fees in accordance with my statutory rights. Wish me luck! :-D0

:-D Awesome. Which ones did you get?0 -
That'a a rubbish reply! I got OH one after seeing how good the previous one was and was gutted with the tiny bits in it, the only good thing was the molton brown but it was such a tiny sample.
This "we must stress that we do not charge customers for products, we charge customers for the service we provide."
and this "We charge our GLOSSYBOX for Men subscribers £5 more as our GLOSSYBOX beauty as we send 7 products instead of 5 once every 3 months."
doesnt make any sense as far as I understand, we paying for the service and not products yet we pay £5 more for 2 extra products? *confused*
And if we are just paying for a service then why are we to pay more when it's a 3 month service of 1 box then a monthly box?
I cancelled asap and wouldnt join up again unless they promised more of gave a 50% discount to use or something. I'm sure i read Lux or someone was going to be doing a mens one?No buying un-necessary toiletries challenge - Start total: 235. Current total: 273!!0
