Thanks Brizzle, I am going to ring the tax office next week when I get chance, I have to do it during the day as the phone lines are quieter. I did apply for the job, but to be honest, another woman at work also applied and she has more experience and I honestly think she would do a really good job of it. I have made it clear to the head teacher that I have applied but that I would also be happy to consider back filling the other woman's current role should she be offered the position. It would be more main team work rather than 1:1 plus might include doing some midday supervisor work, but would then mean early finishes. We'll see what comes of it, I'll know more next week once the applications are all sorted through. Thanks for thinking of me Brizzle, hope things are good where you are x x0

Good move to offer to backfill. Well done. Makes you look keen and clear sighted, and you never know it may come your way anyway...

Evening all, well I was at work today and they have asked me to switch days so I now am going to have Thursdays and Fridays off, unless they need extra cover for any reason. It will be nice because LO goes to nursery those days so I can start to try and get some DIY done. My next job is to cut and fit the poles into LO's wardrobe, which used to be the old boiler tank cupboard. I think I might need to borrow a drill though to get the screws in properly using raw plugs. Then I'm going to take the poles back out and paint it. I figure that way any botched bits I can fill and sand before painting, plus I won't get brick dust from the drilling all down the new white walls. Then once it's all dried I can put the poles back up and no-one will see any mistakes I've made
There are a few jobs like this I think I could do myself. Some of the stuff, like re skimming the walls and wallpapering I'm happy to pay someone to do, but the stuff I can do I am going to try and get done in small bites. This includes more upcycling and painting the kitchen and bathroom.
Can't believe it's March tomorrow. I am pleased with the finances and have done well on the survey front this month, although the last few days they seem to have tailed off. Hoping for another good month in March

Evening my little money saving bunnies.
Well, I paid £125 OP today off the mortgage, hoping to add more from surveys and stuff over the course of the month. Don't seem to be getting the number of surveys I was last month though. Think they were shocked at the number I filled in0 -
Morning guys.
Well, we have yet to get any snow here, hoping everyone is safe and warm this morning. We are popping to town for a bit of shopping. Then spending the afternoon here just chilling out. Think I might try and do some soup making with LO. She like veggies so think we will go for vegetable and lentil.
I've done well on the weight loss this week, now 11st 2lb so a 3lb loss from just food changes. Going to try for a bit more exercise next week to keep up momentum. Also I have a friend who is lending me a nutribullet this weekend to try. I may or may not then buy one depending on how much I like it. I've read a lot of reviews of how good they are. My main thing is it has to be compact and easy to clean. I loved the juicer we got off freecycle but I had to give it away in the end because the cleaning of it drove me insane.
... Friend just dropped it off,LO wanted raspberry, apple and blueberry smoothie so we whipped one up and it's easy to use and clean. Made enough for 3 glasses of smoothie in one go which was great. Also my friend said you can do things like grind nuts into flour and also things like date and cashew power balls... Purchase might be on the cards. I'll see what OH thinks when he gets in. He's been on about starting running again and losing a bit more weight so he might think it's a good idea.
Right, town it is for toothpaste, shampoo and lots of things to put in a nutribullet

Morning all, and a special hello to any Mummy's.
Well, I have had a lovely morning so far. OH got up with LO and they made me breakfast in bed, fresh coffee, toast, one with marmite, one with jam, and then they had whipped up a batch of no cook vegan cookies...awesome!
Also forgot to mention that I got an interview for the TA job at school, I'm pleased, but I almost hope I don't get it. I think the other lady who has applied is better, plus, work would be very awkward if I got it and then had to work alongside her, she's been there a long time and is very much liked by staff and parents.
Off to see the inlaws and the parents later. Got flowers for the MIL and made up a kilner jar for my mum with milk, dark and white choc brazil nuts, her favourites.

Evening all in MSE land.
I got the job! So as of after the Easter holidays I will be working as a level 2 TA running the new provision for 2 year olds. It's very exciting but also a bit scary as I am setting it up with another TA and it's quite a new venture running it every day rather than one day a week like it is at the moment.
Money wise everything is OK, I thinkLots of surveys today which is nice, also got 2 vouchers on the way from 2 separate survey companies. It'll be £10 for the holiday fund and an extra £5 for home improvements and £5 for mortgage OP.

Morning all, hope everyone is well. Bit of a cold and frosty start here in ecoelle land. Glad we got the heating replaced when we did
Work has been a bit mad this last few days, been doing a lot of sorting and filing, printing and laminating, cleaning and binning, but I think I'm getting somewhere. Had a planning meeting with the head yesterday and got loads done last night while it was still fresh in my mind. Decided on a focus book for the first few weeks so I'm gathering ideas of activities which will fit in around the theme and then working out where they fir in the framework of targets...*goes off for coffee*
I'm back!
Money wise all is good. Although I'm still on BR tax? Got to ring tax office again over the school holiday to try and sort it out. Also got to get in touch with CAB about money that my old job say I owe them for overtaken holidays. 1. I'm not even sure I overtook them 2. If I did, and it was by the amount of hours they say, I do not owe the amount of money they have calculated it to.
Mortgage OP is going good, managed another £87.71 this month from surveys and also from the account tidy on payday. Hoping my figures are all correct and we are not short at the end of next month! Also popped a bit extra into the holiday fund and £100 into the house DIY fund, so all in all a successful money month.
Food wise I'm on track with healthy eating although I still haven't felt right sine the 48 hour migraine attack from hell (copyright pending) last weekend. Keep getting waves of nausea, feeling faint and shaky...before anyone says...I'm not pregnant! ha ha:) Smoothies are going down well with LO and also took one in to work for a friend to try and she liked it.
Think Spring cleaning is calling this week, along with some lazy mornings and some walks in the Spring sunshine.
Have a good week all

That's brilliant Elle..well done
No longer worried re working alongside the 'better qualified' lady?.. (Clearly wasn't tho;)) - hope that can all be sorted. Does that put your DIY plans on hold?

No, the other lady, who has lots of 2 year old experience, is going to be working full time which I didn't want. She will stay level 1 and I'll be level 2, I'll do all the planing, but she'll help deliver the sessions and she'll be a keyworker for 9 children as will I. The other part time lady will be keyworker for 3 children as she only works 1 day. Don't think it will awkward but if it is then I'll live x
DIY is still on target, next job is the new front door x0
