OK..so decluttered 5 items to the Food Bank (not decluttering exactly, but ykwim) and there are now 5 cookery books in the hallway waiting to go to the CS. So together with the extra DVDs etc the kids picked out to go onto A8azon we are making headway..

    Thanks for the nudge elle

    My pleasure brizzle

My task today is to get the LO to help me organise what she calls 'making things' and I call 'rubbish' into some sort of order. I am going to reuse an old bookshelf to help with the task and reorganise the front room to accommodate it by getting rid of a rickety old shoe rack. It is full of tired, worn out, dirty smelly shoes of which I'm sure we only wear a few pairs, so I think I might find a nice basket or something to pop by the front door for our everyday shoes and move the others upstairs to wardrobes. LO has agreed to getting rid of one pair of summer pumps which are too small so that's item number 1...

    1. Pink Pumps
    2. One carrier bag of 'rubbish' / 'making things'
    3. Lipstick
    4. Lipstick (found out they are tested on animals!)
    5. 3 Bags of clothes to go to a little cousin of ours
    6. 2 Bags of children's clothes to go to the CS
    7. 3 Bags of toys to go to the CS
    8. My blue and white (well they were once) summer pumps
    9. My stripy summer pumps which the sole is peeling away
    10. One pair of boots for the CS

    Woo Hoo!

I've decided to move the shelf unit that the shoes used to be on into the shed so I can organise all the summer toys, DIY stuff and gardening bits and bobs. Next room to tackle is little one's bedroom, although I did her toys and clothes already so it really only needs a clean and tidy. I have sorted some shoes out which I am going to think about over night and then decide, 2 pairs are the hubby's so guess I should let him decide, then there's 2 pairs of heels which I don't think I've worn in 2 years or more so I'm pretty sure they can go, it will only leave me with one pair heels but as they are black they will do for most formal occasions so I think it'll be OK.

    Right, onwards to the bedroom!

Ok. Started on tomorrows 11 items

    2 bits of clothing
    1 pair of shoes
Cleared out the stationary drawer under the phone, so no more pens which don't work or perished rubber bands...I'm counting the bits I threw away as 1 item.
    So that's 4 and counting...

OK, 7 items found and ditched from the medicine cabinet...some old medicine syringes, why I thought I needed 5 of them I'll never know, bits and bobs which were out of date and an empty tube...why oh why did I put it back when it was empty!

So that's my 11 done for tomorrow as well as 10 today, I figure if I spot anything else tomorrow I can pop it on one side for Tuesdays 12.

So that's 66 items so far for January!

Afternoon all, well I've had a really busy week work wise so decluttering was put on the back burner, I did however manage to get all the ebay stuff listed and it all finishes tonight, so far I'm up to about £90 so that's brilliant as it will pay for my new hair straighteners!

Got offered a couple of extra sessions of work last week which was good, should make fora good February pay cheque, January's is going to be rubbish so going to have to call on the extra money fund.

Managed to use up the leftover mincemeat by making mincemeat almond shortbread so happy not to have wasted anything.

Food shopping still seems to be an issue, I'd spent £130 for 16 days which ifit continues means I would overspend on the years food by about £900, which on a £2000 budget is almost 50%..... any suggestions are much appreciated. I need healthy veggie and vegan friendly dishes which are cheap, easy and nutritious...not asking too much eh!

Petrol is going well, I've got about 80miles left in the tank so should easily be able to do the next 2 weeks without filling up. Surveys are going well, I'm up to £26 on onepoll, £5 on consumerpulse and £6 on valued opinions, although I'm not adding it to my signature until it pays out.

All in all a good week, but need to get a grip on the food front!

    Well that was terrifying!!!!

Ended up in A and E with LO, she decided to put her hand down on our log burner...just to see what the temperature was...at a guess, about 400 degrees!

Oh dear, doctor said she's badly burnt her hand and has an appointment at plastics in another city on Tuesday. Guilty mum alert!

These things happen and whilst horrible are called accidents because they are just that.

I remember at about the age of 5 putting my fingertips on the iron that was on high heat (just to see how hot it was as well) and losing the skin off them (no scars to show for it), my sibling managed to pour a hot cup of tea all over themselves. My parents were very safety concious but these things happen in a split second.

Blaming yourself won't help but I know we all do the same when these things happen. Children are pretty resilient and often do better than adults.

Hope all goes well on Tuesday.

Thanks, she's ok, had the dressing changed and the surgeon looked at it and thinks it will heal on it's own so we just have to change the dressings and keep an eye on her in case of infection.

Ebay money came in so I have £102 to splash, I'm spending £78 on a new pair of hair straighteners, so £24 left...

I've listed another 2 items and I'm planning on a few more next Sunday as they seem to sell better on a Sunday night. I have managed to get 2 beauty products for £7 each which are normally £35 each so I'm going to list them, anything over £10 and I'll be in credit so it's all good.

Off to bed now as I have a day at work tomorrow, coffee with a friend Thursday morning then another day's paid work on Friday.

    Night all x
