  • I need a BUMLady thread then because I never sit still... I just can't help cleaning or tidying (I love nothing better than a one day top to bottom house clean in a logical manner), even if someone is having a conversation with me I'll be multitasking.

You see i envy your self motivation and one day hope to be like you :) I just have to have a list and targets. Once i get a bit more on top of things i'm hoping i'll be able to do it quicker and get more done each day, i wish i had one of those houses that other people seem to have where their carpets are always hoovered and their kitchens are always clean, i think a lot of decluttering is required before i'm able to do a quick top to bottom:)
  • I'm a neurotic list maker - it's makes things faster if you know what you need to do and helps to do things in the most logical order so you don't have to back track.

It is time consuming to get on top of things but once that part is done you'll be racing through the cleaning.

I hope so:) My end goal is that i'll have a routine of daily jobs and a list of longer term jobs, for examplle i don't use my oven a huge amount and never cook meat in there so it doesn't get overly dirty, therefor i think cleaning it once a month is acceptable to me, so that would be on the longer term job list.

Right, back to it now lunch is done, got to go and file away the papers which turned out to not be for recycling and going to dust upstairs. I'm trying to get all the noisy and upstairs jobs done before baby girl gets home, that way when she goes for her afternoon nap pi can get the downstairs jobs done.

Ok, so tonight we have veggi pie for tea and veg with gravy.

Starting tomorrow it's a 'new cash' week for me as my weeks start Thursdays due to getting paid on Thursday every 4 weeks, it makes sense to me:) I don't decide what we're having on what night i just come up with 7 teas

[STRIKE]Bean and vegetable casserole with roast potatoes (maybe a cheeky pork sausage for the hubby as he's not veggie)[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Falafel, cumin wedges, salad and salsa[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Vegetable chilli and jacket potatoes (sour cream and chives for hubby)
    [/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Gnocchi with tomato, garlic and onion sauce[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Potato and spinach curry with spiced rice[/STRIKE]

[STRIKE]Vegetable fried rice, tempura carrots, sweetcorn fritters and sweet chilli sauce
    [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Veggie pie, veg and gravy[/STRIKE]

Think that's it and hopefully another cheap shopping week. We'll need sour cream and spinach but other than that i can cobble the rest together without buying anything. Will of course need to get hubbies lunch stuff, crisps, yoghurts, cereal bars etc, but not bad at all. My lunch's are already done as i've got 3 pots of soup frozen (yummy spiced squash) plus i've got 1 tinned soup and some baked beans so i'm good.

Yeah i pretty much only cook from scratch, i like to follow recipes and hunt out any i can try new. The spinach and potato curry is a slimming world one, it is lovely, they recommend putting natural yoghurt in at the end but as i'm allergic to dairy i choose to use tom puree instead.

The cumin wedges are a recipe of my mum's as is the spicy rice, perfectly cooks every time if you follow the rules

little bit of oil, fry the spices you like, i use fenugreek, cumin seeds and fennel seeds, then measure your rice...this is the key bit...i use 1cup rice but it doesn't matter how much you use as long as you measure it. Then put in twice the amount of water, so i use 2 cups, if you use 3 cups of rice you would use 6 of water. Then put the lid on and bring to the boil, as soon as it boils turn it down as low as your hob will go, and once all the water is gone turn it off and leave for 20 mins. Perfect rice:) If you have an electric hob i believe you use 1 and a 1/2 times water to rice.

Thanks NP if you like curries i have some great recipes for some veggie ones, mung bean daal is especially good and really cheap, looks horrid but tastes divine:)
