    I've been Money Tipped!
If you are getting the train to Hastings, and your train stops at West St Leonards station, get off there as the bus journey is much shorter to Coombe

What may cause you problems doing this, is if the barriers at West St leonard are working. And you are on a cheap ticket you may not be able to get off at any stop other than the one stated on the ticket.

I know the barriers weren't working when we went but it is a risk!!

to get though the barrier you either have to show your ticket or swipe it.
If you buy a ticket to Hastings and then get off early at St Leonards, you may not be able to get through the barrier or past the barrier staff as you have the wrong station on your ticket.

You used to be able to get off early but these days you're not supposed to, but can sometimes get away with it.

You can get bus or train from Hastings to Rye, medieval cobbled town of 3000 people https://www.visitrye.co.uk Hastings has a castle and a country park plus a cliff lift and an art gallery, aquarium, museum, fishermens' museum and smugglers caves.
