    Welcome

For one or two countries, yes, otherwise I try translating something like cheap phone calls into the target language, then a Google search - like telephone moins cher for France, or ring billigt or ring billigar for Sweden

Sometimes this will only find providers, but occasionally comparison sites - hence, for Germany

    https://www.teltarif.com

There are quite a few sister Finarea companies to the ones we know here, described and listed http://www.myvoipprovider.com/blogcategory/Betamax/9/9/

You won't always either have time to set up an account, or have permission to make outgoing calls on the line though, or may find yourself in a hotel where they surcharge calls, sometimes even freephone ones (or bar them).

So you might also look into calling cards and callback, and if you will have internet access, consider using VoIP

Callback can be very flexible, and basically involves triggering an incoming call that then gives you either a dialling tone, or your pre-defined destination number ringing. There are a variety of triggering methods - calling a trigger number, webpage access, using a mobile by sending an sms or via wap/gprs, sometimes using a Java client in the phone.

For more detailed explanation, please ask
