Seller being a pain in the backside!

I bought an Alesis DM6 electronic drum kit off eBay on 26th Feb 2012, I was so pleased as I got it almost half price compared to in store brand new prices. The one I bought was second hand.
Since buying it I've had nothing but trouble off the flipping seller!
Firstly, I asked if he can send it so that I would receive it on a Wed or a Thurs as I was off Uni those days - he said that would be fine (seeing as I bought it on a Sunday evening). He was posting it via Yodel. After sending him many emails etc I finally received the kit about 8 to 9 days after I'd won (and paid straight away) - considering he sent it via Yodel 48 hour, I didn't find this very good.
Anyway...
So I receive the item, and the next day proceed to try and put it together.. however I was missing some stuff, and it was damaged!
The listing stated that a pair of headphones and a beginners drum book were included in the sale - they weren't sent. I don't need the book or the headphones, but if it stated they were included - I want them! As well as that various screws - quite important screws - were completely missing. Seller said he 'forgot' to put the headphones and book in the box and that the screws must have fallen out of the box.
I've had to go and buy extra screws in various sizes costing around £7.50 just to put it together...
Finally thought I'd got it all sorted.. put it together and tested to make sure it all worked... NOPE! One of the pedals doesn't even have a trigger in it, so it doesn't register that it's being used... so it's broke.
So the seller has said he's refund me £7.50 straight away for the screws (this was a few days ago - no refund as of yet for these). He also said he has sent the book... but then said he would send the book and headphones down - contradicting himself here. He then said he'd refund me £40 so I can buy another pedal so that the whole kit works - he hasn't yet.
I've opened a dispute on eBay, asking for a partial refund of £50 so I can buy the pedal so the kit works. I do not want to send it back to him as it will cost about £20 to post because it's so big!
I have to wait until 26th March for the seller to respond - he hasn't yet and I opened the case on 17th March. Is there anything I can do before 26th March to get a partial refund quicker?

No. Now you have the case open you have to work through that. Just be mindful that if the seller declines to offer you the £50 then Ebay cannot force them to agree a partial refund. Your only option then, will be to send it back tracked for a full refund.0

It says that if the seller doesn't do anything by March 26th I can escalate it to a claim - what could happen then? Could eBay just simply say that I have to send back for a full refund, and they wouldn't find in my favour of a partial refund?SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000

As above you can't insist on a partial refund, ebay will almost certainly tell you to send it back tracked for a full refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Don't be so naive. Ebay is a jumped up car boot, it's where everyone gets rid of their junk.
If you want a guarantee then go to Argos0 -

Where did I say I wanted a guarantee?
I want what I paid for.
If it is put in a listing that the auction includes X, Y and Z in perfect condition. I fully expect to receive X, Y and Z in perfect condition.SAVINGS: £63.86 // £3,0000 -
Yes I know you want what you paid for but Ebay aint like that. You could be dealing with con artists, rogues and theives on Ebay, selling from the back bedroom to feed their drug habit.. If you expect to receive X, Y and Z in perfect condition then buy from Argos0

If you send it back, try https://www.gwizzcouriers.co.uk, or https://www.interparcel.com, they both offer tracked rates at affordable prices.
If you escalate into a claim you could be awarded a refund without having to send it back, or you could have to send it back, but there is no possible way to get a partial refund without the seller doing it themselves0 -

That's right Argos sell on Ebay but they only sell returns and Ex catalogue junk that they dare not sell in their shops.
So why don't Argos, Tesco HP etc sell current lines on Ebay? because Ebay is their dumping ground. That's what Ebay is, it's the big online car boot for everyones faulty tired and unwanted junk.0
