If you have had a child passport do you need to go for interview when you replace with an adult one?

No - the interview is for people who get their first ever passport as an adult

Ok, that seems a bit strange but the whole interview thing seems a little odd to me too

    Thanks for the replies.
I am still really nervous that it's not going to show up, but there's not alot I can do about it tbh

If you kept a note of the barcode reference number you can track it either by phoning the advice line or going online.

Not only odd but a waste of time - only 5 applications declined in 18 months due to the interview according to Parliament.gov.uk!

Wife got her first British passport recently, took about 3.5 weeks in total but it varies massively on the waiting time for the interview. London was about 3 weeks lead time and so we went to Portsmouth as they had a 3 day lead time.

Whilst http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewforum.php?f=42 is mainly about becoming british it also has a fair amount about first passports too including peoples timelines, how to push it etc
