I wouldn't stand for that - they are supposed to charge you the quoted price. If *you* didn't get that laptop I'd be wanting know who did if I were you.

    Excerpt from t&cs

We try to make sure that Collect@Store goods always remain available for purchase until you arrive at the store, however we cannot guarantee this. For this reason we do not take any payment from you until you come to our store. In the unlikely event that the goods are not available we will do everything we can to get the product from another PC World store or find you an acceptable alternative.

All Collect@Store sales take place in our stores and subject to our usual in store Terms and Conditions. However, provided you bring your Collect@Store print out and/or reference number with you, our store will always honour the online price for the goods which was showing when you chose to Collect@Store - this may be cheaper than the usual in store price!

    - now if they have stock at £579.99 you should be asking for one at half price.

I have a reservation in Bexhill just whated to know if anybody who lived near there might have a reservation for a store in London. I work in London and Bexhill is a 4 hour round trip train ride for me.

darth, according to customer services, if you take your print out to the branch in question, they will sell the laptop to you at the price on your print out. Ring customer services again and moan at them some more. Quote the terms and conditions of the offer, too.

I think I've made a big boo-boo then with my pc crashing whilst printing reference, I assumed they'd sell the goods on back of my ID from name/phone no, not that the printout proves the cost you are to pay for the goods. have to give their customer service a call tomorrow and see what they can do. doh *insert embarrassed smiley*

  • Woby, you didn't manage to get your reference number at all? You need to call CS and they will then contact the manager of the store who will be able to locate your reference number through the phone number and name you gave when ordering.

It's a 2600+ AMD Mobile Sempron processor, which means it's a 1.6GHz processor, but is specifically built for laptops. It's actually a very good processor. As far as I'm concerned, it beats the 2.4Ghz Celeron processor sitting in my Dell Inspiron.

It's a 2600+ which does NOT mean it is 2.6GHz - It is in fact 1.6GHz - google for it to know more.

Incidentally - my box is still closed but I wanted to know the accurate specs.

If you have a serial number go here : http://support.packardbell.com/uk/

and mash it in :) ........ voila - all the specs you need.

ie 2 x memory slots (that's what I was after) plus DVD RW specs.
