Cheap but good quality packing boxes?

I have used this company, Mad4boxes:
http://www.mad4boxes.co.uk/
They are the actual manufacturer of cardboard boxes and were the cheapest I could find at the time. Postage is free if you spend £35. They came the next day as promised.
I didn't bother with the pens, wrapping paper etc. as we had some already. The boxes were good quality.0 -
I went to Costco and got their document storage boxes - designed to take a lot of heavy paper, files, etc., they're collapsable, have lids, handholds, and did the biz for me, definitely.
They swallowed CDs, DVDs, videos, books and all manner of other heavy stuff.
The advantage of these as opposed to a second-hand miscellany is that they're all the same size, and therefore stack really easily in the moving van, or in that corner of the boxroom prior to the move.0 -
Hi all,
During entire process of relocation they(moverworx) maintained high
standard process to make your relocation to the new place comfortable and easier and they also provide you the moving box, contact with them ,moverworx0 -
I agree the cost of boxes from moving companies is just ridiculous, when i moved house with my partner we went down to our local tesco at night time as this is when they did the shelf stacking and asked for some boxes which they happily provided they were already collapsed and just needed putting back up which was no problem.
Obviously some of the boxes were slightly worse for wear but we just chucked those ones out if they were too bad.
We did our house move with these boxes and not having to buy another one the staff were very pleasant and not snotty about it the crisps and cereal boxes are the best.
Just remember when your doing this dont be embarresed you are saving them a job if anything and they are probably grateful of it!!
Good luck with the move

I'd get some boxes from a storage company... In the past i've found that boxes from supermarkets and wherever else can break easily and aren't very reliable. You've no idea what has happened to the box before you came to be in its possession!
When you buy boxes from a storage company they are designed for the purpose you are using them for, therefore they will be most reliable compared to other boxes...

ah but some storage company boxes are not good to move thing about, they are ok to store things in. we found the storage book boxes just collapsed and were too flimsy...0 -
Hi Everyone
I got my boxes from a company called Ferrari Packaging and they do home mover kits which includes double wall cardboard boxes, bubble wrap and tape dispenser! I think people forget about the other useful things when moving home.
I can't remember the exact website address but I am sure you can find it on Google.
Thanks

It's best to just get some free boxes from the supermarket or just get them off freecycle! But if you are caught at the last minute or need to do a heavy move, make sure they're not selling inferior products like single walled box packs. Single wall boxes are flimsy and can only hold things like duvets. Packing companies often sell them as a way of driving down prices. make sure they're double walled - slightly more expensive but still around the same price. try Box Boys Packing Boxes For Moving cheers, sam0
