Get them to put this in writing and then name and shame by sending it to Private Eye and the Daily Mail. The local paper might be interested too.Twiglet0309 wrote: »When renewing my Mothers blue badge we were told she would have to have another Medical Examination despite the fact she is registered as a multiple amputee."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
I applied for mine (somerset council) online. The woman rang me and more or less accused me of lying about DLA!! She said things like"we WILL need to see the original award letter! - fine. and "your awfully young, are you sure you have been awarded HRM?" Even implied i had mental health issues! I think she is dragging it out as after April it goes up to £10 from £2!! Surely i should pay the £2 as i applied well before April lol xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea0 -
My badge expired a fortnight ago. I printed the forms from of net and fill it all in, then took it to my local council office, this was 4 weeks before it expired.
2 weeks later I had my new badge (which expires in 3yrs time) and it cost me £2....0 -
Just got my new BB from Hampshire CC. Cost me £2 to renew. I did the photo with my phone then simply printed 2 copies off using a free web programme for passport photos. They took 2 weeks to process it.The DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.0

"Fee: The fee is currently £2 but will change to £10 from the 1 April 2012. Please note that the application form asks for £10 but if you apply before 1 April 2012 the fee will be £2"Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. My blue badge from Leeds City Council was free, no charge whatsoever. I would be interested in that free web program to print out passport photos though.0

Proof of HRM DLA is needed regardless.
I have an Indefinite DLA award, so it's not a problem (until that too changes) but didn't know if this information might be useful to anyone else.
Sorry to say Sue, from next year with the advent of PIP replacing the DLA, your indefinate award like mine will mean nothing, as we all will, by 2016 at the latest, have to submit to an assesment as to if we qualify for the new PIP, which if you can walk with support (stick, frame etc) you won't recive sufficient "points" to get the higher rate and any award is in most cases only available for up to 10 years at teh most.
