I use growbags tipped into pots.
Was using morrisons flower pots (8 for £1) as the pots.

You could cut out the bottom of the pot and stand it in the growbag and then fit the pot from another growbag. This would give your tomatoes even more room to grow and mean they didn't dry out quite so quickly.

wilkos sell growbag trays which help keep your greenhouse a bit tidier.

My courgettes thrived in grow bags last year, so am planting some more in them this year (new grow bags though). Have also planted some spinach and rocket in them. Bought my grow bags in Aldi for £1.29/each. Bargain!

Oh, that's a good price. My local Factory Shop has them for £1.50 and was thinking of getting a few but... every little helps!

    Anyone match or better that???

Thanks for all the thoughts, everyone.

    Hi

I might be the only one... but I don't like grow bags.. I prefer to use pots. I usually get the pots 10 for around £1 from Morrisons and fill them up with the stuff out of the growbags or compost and grow the tomatoes and cucumbers in that.. I find it easier to water the pots and look after the tomatoes etc and also allow more space between the plants once they grow up ..

    Just a thought...

I don't go into to Morrisons that often but do they have these at the moment?, any idea on diametre / how sturdy are they? At that price if they only last a season then so be it.

For those cutting a growbag in half, a useful extra tip. Cut in half, empty the bag, turn it inside out, and refill with the soil. The inside is almost always black, and it's a lot smarter this way. The main advantage, however, is that the black bag warms the soil up far faster, meaning better growth & ripening fruit!
(Worth checking the inner side is black first... )
