A while ago I managed to get an offer to use the vip lounge at the airport for £12 each!
Included in the offer was a variety of drinks, pastries, biscuit and cheese etc!
It was a very pleasant!
Has anyone seen any offers???
I can highly recommend this!
Thanks,
Etyx

Are you thinking of the offer with Egg?
Still around, but I think the discount is now 25%."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
I paid £4.25 for some when the Egg offer was 75% cashback (now 25%).
I think the lounges vary somewhat because I have been in 3 or 4 and never got any fresh food and the pre-packaged snacks were OK but not great.
Couldn't get on the internet in a few because they were too busy.
I would certainly pay £4 but couldn't agree with you that they are great for £12 but I guess it depends on the facilities provided.
The drinks provided vary as well.
I really like Baileys but have often had to drink something like Sherry because of a lack of choice.0 -
What lounges are these? Are they specific airline lounges like BA?0

Hi Peter,
Here is the website that is used for the Egg offer.
http://www.loungepass.com/
You should be able to find all the lounges on it and details about them e.g. opening times, whether children are allowed and facilities available e.g. showers.
I've been in about 3 and it seems that facilites vary.
I've tended to go to smaller airports and none I've been in have had fresh food.
Alcoholic beverages vary so it's a bit pot luck whether your favourite tiple is there.
One I've been in had a shower.
Many have internet facilites but if they are busy you might not get to use it.
Definitely all had comfy seats and peace and quiet.
Some allow children, others don't.
If you are interested in a specific one then feel free to ask about it as usually someone on this site will have been there before.
One thing to bear in mind though.
Some airlines e.g. charter, only open a desk 2 hours beforehand. If this is the case then it's hardly worth getting the lounge as they are airside and there is hardly any time to use them.
If you are flying with a large carrier that has many flights e.g. BA, Easyjet, then you will probably find you won't have the same restriction,0 -

No, typically they are shared lounges (i.e. not specific airline lounges)."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
The one I used was in Liverpool. There was a really good variety of booze!
It was a good way to kick start the holiday!

Thanks very much xxx0 -
Be nice if anyone knows of any cheaper sites for these!
Thanks in advance!

The cheapest way I know is to combine the Egg 25% discount with Quidco 10% cashback. I have previously booked this way and got a net price of £11.05 for what would cost £17 directly through Lounge Pass.
First, click through from the Egg Rewards/Special Offers/Instant Cash Back section to the Lounge Pass site - the Egg logo should be in the top corner. Now open another browser window and go to https://www.quidco.com, then click through to Lounge Pass. The second Lounge Pass page you opened should also have the Egg logo in the top corner. Close the first Lounge Pass page and book your lounge (using your Egg card, obviously) using the remaining page. It should track with Quidco as 10% of the full amount and you should then get 25% instant cashback credited to your Egg card too. This space has been intentionally left blank0 -

Just to confirm, this really does work.0
