Well from the beginging of this senario October til now is nearly 5 months give or take.
But as far as Natwest process is concerned the OP asserts that it took from 4th November to 17th February just to register the issue. That is either a matter of fact or not. I cannot say which, but from time to time that is something I experience from large organisations (including RBS/Natwest and for balance HBOS).
Could the issue have been better handled by either or both parties? Probably. Is it "dumb" to buy at a party if DSR doesn't apply? Definately. I hope, with apologies to party hosts, that is the lesson from this thread.0 -

I've read the regs and can't determine whether parties are or are not captured. It is disappointing that no authority on DSR has posted a definitive explanation.
As an OT aside, I got something from Amazon a few days ago. Faulty but not obviously so. Filled out the online form and printed the return label. Only 2 days after posting back I already have an email confirming the refund has been processed. That's how e-commerce should work. Well done Amazon.0
