Can anyone please recommend a good place to get brake pads/discs for a good price ?

Don't forget that if you buy the part then have a garage fit it, should there be a problem with the part, the supplier will replace the part, but the garage will still want paying for the labour of removing the offending part and fitting a replacement, and the part supplier will not reimburse you for this.
So for the sake of saving a fiver, the job could end up costing you an extra 50 quid.
If the garage also supplies the part, and something goes wrong with it, the garage are liable to make it right.
True, however a brake disc is a lump of metal and a pad isn't much more complex.
Provided the part is right, and the brand is recognised (with the like of Comline acting as the very bare minimum quality standard) I can't see a problem really.0 -
I've had one supposedly good brand brake disc that fractured within 6 months. Garage in question, a local (at the time) independent Subaru specialist, replaced it for me free of charge.0

I don't know if I fancy Indian discs any more than chinese though.0 -
OP is asking can they buy discs and pads online to be fitted somewhere inclusive like blacksquare tyres to save dosh
the answer is no
tother problem is that depending when where how and why the vehicle was born can mean a plethora of different parts might have been fitted and often quoting registration or year to a supplier is next to hopeless when the parts come
saw this today big lump of a motor stuck on the ramp all day since all the parts that kept arriving for it were wrong
OP find a local independant trusted recommended garage and let them do the business
dont let them sell you forte for you engine though
That's exactly the reason for not buying online, did my daughters BMW 320 M sport a month or so ago, the correct pads were the 3rd out of 4 options from the local motor factors, imagine trying the options online:eek::eek::eek:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I'd just ring aorund the local places and ask for a quote to supply and fit.
Brakes are pretty simple but some cars have the bearing inside the disc, abs rings etc and you can end up with the wrong part and an irate garage as your car is taking up their ramp due to you providing the wrong part or extra work need to make it fit.0 -

Looking at RealOEM (the BMW parts catalogue) for front pads it only shows one front pad covering all the following:
3 Series: E90, E90N, E91, E91N, E92, E92N, E93, E93N and F30 for all engines sizes from 116 to 335d.
The same pads were also used on:
1 Series: E81, E82, E87, E87N, E88 and F20 - again for all engine sizes.
Was the 3rd out of 4 the OEM pad with the others being aftermarket?0 -

This was only about a month ago and we are lucky in my area as we have 2 major motor factors on our, and indeed each others doorsteps. I always ring them both for the best deal.
So we are obviously not talking genuine BMW parts, that's not what the op asked for. Both motor factors said over the phone there were 2 possible options, I'd had a quick look without dismantling the car and thought I'd memorised the shape.
Whet to pick them up, picked wrong, picked up other option and they were also wrong. Now they were all very similar in shape but very different in size.
Anyway at this point I took the darn thing apart and went back for the 3rd time, (this is less than 2 miles away hence my point in my last post).
Chap looks in book, ah there is another possible fitment, showed him the 1 I'd taken out and it wasn't that either but we found the correct 1 from sillouette.
Bear in mind this was all done from the reg number and was a none messed about M Sport 320n from a main dealer a few years ago.
Would have hated to try and sort that online :TI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
