We did have it done profesionally and it cost a small fortune:eek:But my DH is in the building trade so it was a bit cheaper but I had lots of cutouts in mine for stuff so their was no way he'd do it. I had it made to measure and then they did little cuts on site.Always use a chopping board too, you think it doesnt scratch but it can.Best thing I did was swapped the metal bars that people usually have inlaid as a draining board. I had them put either side of the hob so if you get something hot out of the oven you can put it straight on them because your not supposed to put anything hot on it either:eek:Washing up liquid & water will be fine to clean it, just don't bother with all the expensive stuff it's a rip off;)

Thank u for your advice,it says on the tin scratch and heat resistant,i suppose i would have to be careful and use a choping board and cooling rack.

My husband did the tiles/so far we have been without a functioning kitchen for 5 weeks, not sure if i can take anymore sigh/.

I have to agree completely about the price,it is either good second hand car or a kitchen worktop. We havent bought a worktop yet,we are watching one on ebay and searching for best price in shops as well. What shop did u buy yours from please?tia

Two years ago me and DH both had Gucci watches from Goldsmiths for Xmas courtesey of Mr T;) and last year DS had his 18th Birthday watch from there too :T

Don't get me started on watches and Goldsmiths......

2 'normal' Seamasters, 1 James Bond Seamaster, 1 Vancouver Seamaster and 2 Tags. Also spent 500 quid having my usual watched serviced.

God I miss oodles of CC points :(

On the subject of kitchens our main oven is not getting warm :( Cottage pie had to be microwaved as cheese hadn't melted.

Not being technical (either of us) could it be the Thermostat or an element?
Oven came with the kitchen & builder has disappeared long ago.

:) at least the top oven still works :)

Woohoo! It's a genuine win for the elite.
Just got to call Clubcard in the morning to have the points added.

She's on a roll tonight; she just got a confirmation email telling her she passed her college course with a distinction (>92%). :T

She said to me, " Must be fake, I never entered my details into any Tesco Favourites Competition!" I replied, "No, you didn't, but I did!" :D

Many thanks to all the OP's who kept reminding us to enter. I love this place, I really do.

    OB

Heading back to page 38. Will catch up eventually.
