I have done as much catching-up as I can tonight so just a couple of quotes:

It was my surgery that made this 'suggestion' to me when I was receiving post-op care after my wound split open, I wasn't allowed to drive for 4 weeks and they decided that I could take the bus, now at this point (8 days post-op) I got completely flat-out exhausted even walking up the stairs let alone to the bus stop, on a (what would have been quite painful) 15 minute bus ride and another walk to the surgery! My only option would have been a £25 total taxi ride, and I would have been in such pain from bumps in the road etc.

I called the district nurses and they said of course I shouldn't be expected to get to the surgery and the receptionist should never have tried to pressurise me into going there

If in any doubt I would call the office and explain, after all it is only one nurse that's said this, she's probably just trying to ease her own workload!

Well talking medical stuff, my friend Sue is in hospital right now. She had a nasty flare up of her Crohn's, went to A&E and was admitted, she's now on a drip being fed steroids

It was her only child's 16 bday today as well :(

I'm going to see her tomorrow, made a little bag full of stuff to keep her occupied, puzzle, magazines, some of that 'hint of peach and something' spring water (she's not allowed to eat atm), a cute little toy and some toiletries miniatures from my own collection.

Actually, the nurse the next day, when we told her what the other one had said, was disgusted and said that they would continue to visit him at home as long as he felt it was needed, so that was better news

Sorry to hear about your friend but I bet she was delighted after your visit today

Thank you, both of you in my prayers, I think you are quit right to insist on nurses coming out to you. Why shouldn't he pop out and about when he feels up to it, this doesn't mean that he is up to going to regular appointments. Unfortunately with the NHS you seem to get the standard of treatment you fightfor not necessarily the standard you are entitled to.

I wish it wasn't the case, but this seems true of the NHS these days from our experience with Mam in the end-of-life unit up North and a few of the things down here :(

Amyway, I am off to my bed now - Mr 3Dogs is sound asleep, bless him

Night Night my Elite friends :A :A
