an old lady nearly made me cry in tesco today.:o
i was putting some bread flour in my trolley and she came over and was uhmming and ahhhing over the flour on the shelf. i offered her a voucher and she said "bless you my dear, i didnt have enough money to buy the flour:(.thank you dear" i was walking to the tills all wet eyed. i waited near the door until she came out and gave her a handful of coupons.
to her say. "ohh lovey i cant take them all." i told her to take them and enjoy the bread.
i sat in the car, thinking about her, and feeling good how i helped her, but also the other times when people think your a 2 headed wierdo when you offer them coupons.
then there was a tap on the window. the old lady had followed me to the car . she wanted to make sure i had enough coupons for myself. i said yes. when she had gone i burst into tears. :o such a lovely lady, who only had thought of somebody else before herself.

That is so lovely MMW :A :A

Awww...when someone is as appreciative as that lady then it doesn't matter of all the times you offer help/coupons and they are are refused...she makes up for it all.....:):)

MMW...please don't take this the wrong way but I used to think you were quite a 'hard' person but now I know you are a softy...:):)

I can vouch for MMW being very kind and caring as she has been advising and supporting me by pm concerning Alan's stoma, and posted a parcel of goodies not not Mr T ones ;) to me at the weekend - she has been an :A Thank you MMW :T

Didn't take too long at the hospital this morning - left house at 7.30am and we were home by 10am - only with doc for about 45 minutes, but it is a 45 mile round journey. The consulant agreed to have the drain tubes taken out but explained about the abcess and wound, saying that it was not a normal abcess. It may be, and probably is, being fed by the cancer and may not heal, so they needed to take the tubes out, clean the hole up, pack it with seaweed gauze and put a dressing over it. The District Nurse will change the dressing and pack the wound every day and, if it doesn't heal, I will be taught how to do it myself  He did say it will need further treatment and possibly further surgery :(

Not the news we were expecting as we both thought it was a simple job of removing the drain and the wound healing up, job done, but cancer isn't like that is it? Ah well, this may influence him when he has to decide whether to have chemo after all. He is waiting to speak to the oncologist when he gets his appointment through, to hear what he has to say, before making his decision

Postie brought a leter from the hospital and I thought it might be his 6 week appointment with consultant, or one for the oncologist, but he now has an appointment for a CT chest Scan on Monday 2nd April, as mentioned by the consultant on discharge, as they just want to check if it has gone to his lungs

Lovely sunny day here today, so managed to get washing on the line to dry naturally, much better than using the tumbler .... and much much cheaper

Hi all. Can anyone point me in the direction of where the real food multi-buy meal for £5 is online? There's a forlorn fridge at the back of my store with it in but I'm sure its OOD, would be good to check and get another DTD from there (as theyre a shocker at the moment)

    Thanks

    Hi fourp,

    Well said:T

    Wondered where you've been lately

As you'll have gathered from pms I've been otherwise occupied but popping on and lurking but haven't been to Mt T for a week or so and not taken advantage of anything posted.

Saw a bit of the "kerfuffle" but (perhaps going out on a limb here:o) can't understand why people get so het up about trivial things when there are bigger fish to fry:( No offence meant to those who IMHO do seem to get too worked up about things but then again I'm not standing in their shoes:cool:

For those who remember that I was having a few problems with my foot, I've had mixed news. I was hoping that the foot was broken and could therefore be fixed but unfortunately the Xrays show that its severe wear of the joints due to so much hill walking and the onset of osteo-arthritis. Don't really know yet what this means in the long term(Doc phoned me with the results so I've not yet been to see them and discuss). Anyone else got this sort of problem?

Hi Artha , nice to see you retire from lurkdom for a while .
It doesn't sound too promising with the foot des it . Maybe the Docs will prescribe some calcium tabs / painkillers etc but you can bet your bottom $ they'll be cheap ones that won't work and you'll spend many a happy summer day hobbling back'n'forth to the Surgery to sort it out -that's how it is round these parts .

Artha , if I were you I'd bite the bullet , take a few paracetamol and get up to the hills and do some limited strolling .
I was young once , now I get older all the time .
