I got my mum into a local centre for 2 half days a week, somewhere for her to chat to other people of her own age and they had activities for them too.
Not easy being a full time carer but by using local clubs if they are available in your area will give you some time for yourself and give your mum something to look forward to.
Trouble is I'm not even a 24/7 carer for her yet, she does her morning things herself, I do leave everything out ready for her like tea bag in a cup and breakfast in a bowl etc. So I do get time to myself at the moment thank goodness as I know things are only going to get worse for her. I think the confusion is frustrating me having to repeat myself, I have more of my dad's temperament, sometimes a bit of a short fuse and I really have to bite my tongue over the silliest of things that she is forgetting. Maybe it's me that needs to go and have a chat to someone different.
Actually I do with my friends on here.:T
Everyone is entitled to a down day x. A bit of pampering tomorrow will do the world of good as will your mum getting out and about.
Thanks, I'm so pleased my hairdresser is not on holiday as I thought when we were chatting yesterday. It's funny when I was younger I imagined doing all these things like taking my elderly parents out and about to garden centres etc but when you are so close to their everyday needs I don't think it is the first thing you think to do. Bit selfish of me I know and I'm sure lots do without a second thought. I guess it's not having anyone to share the burden with is why I find it like that.0 -
good night all, i'm off to bed now.0

Top tip for people putting clubcard points on from wombled receipts when it's gone pasted the 2 week period.
Distract the CS person:Dask them a question about if they stock x, y and z. In my case tonight the single mentos. End result. Points on card

Evening everyone. Sorry if I'm interupting a conversation mid flow but am about 30 odd pages behind. Does anyone know what Aydin Retail is? I have money taken out my bank paid to this company but can't figure out what it is for. TIA
Dunno what they do but you can have a look at their house if you want

Re MILK & MORE, I have e-mailed them and received no response, they'd better not think they're taking the full amount, I wouldn't have paid those prices if I didn't think I was getting the tenner off!!
I second that.
I have emailed them and have received no response, as you have. Do keep in touch about this please, Kadison, and everyone going through this. Surely we will make more ground with numbers.2013 Wombles onto Giftcard Challenge £0/£1200 -
One word describes today...........FLAT!
Had seals buggin me for ages but nothing close enough to get a decent pic so put the camera away in dry bag etc. 10 mins later had a seal pop its head up 2 feet from me and have a right good nose at me. By the time I'd shiftily got the camera back out he was gone! I'd have got some corking shots of him too!
10 mins later a pod of harbour porpoise came steaming by but again didnt get any decent pics as they were through so quickly. I went after them but to no avail. I saw them a little later too but only fleetingly.
Didn't catch any fish either.
I must say though, the past couple of days have helped to relieve the stress and lift my mood though. Breathlessness seems to have eased a bit too, but still suddenly rears its head and makes me all but useless for a few days..........got to get to the bottom of that one as it's becoming frustrating now. I've been pushing this right shoulder too but seems whatever I do doesn't ease or aggravate it, its just niggling constant pain regardless what I do. Another ailment for the doc to dismiss! lol0 -
