Totally gutted. Have had to advertise my 2 pairs of Alton Towers tickets on a free to sell site for just £15 a set. I really wanted to swap as its so pricey to go nowadays, even with a 2 for 1 ticket :(
Typical, the 2 days I cannot go this week (Thurs and Saturday) are the 2 dates I have received
    What a waste of time!!!!

    What dates do you have?

On the subject of Orlando.....my sister is having a horrendous time over there! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j Ain't karma a ...... (fill in the appropriate, I don't want to be banned from my support group! :o) My cousin's kids (age 9&11) don't want to go anywhere and aren't gettting up til lunchtime, wasting half the day and then moaning about everything when they go to any of the parks! And my cousins spend all their time looking for cigarette stops and not going on any of the rides. The heating for the pool isn't working and they didn't have internet/phone for the 1st few days. I know I shouldn't laugh but WTH :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: !!!!!!

KandCo was her* 1st squeal, so it wasn't necessarily targeting this thread!

I have a feeling it is a her!

Must admit I've had a strong suspicion of that at times, though if pressed I'd struggle to say exactly why.
    Hope is not a strategy.

All this talk of knives and dangerous activities reminded me of a game we used to play as kids which was called "knifey" and a variant which might have been called "stretch"? Does anyone remember playing it and do kids still play it? (may have been very local though)

Vague memories, but it involved standing opposite each other on grass with legs apart and taking turns to throw the knife in between the feet. If it stuck in the ground, one foot would be moved to that point and so on until the feet were together. Definitely not a game to play in bare feet or thin shoes as I recall:eek:
    Hi artha,

Yep! Remember this when I was a lad (in Glasgow). Exactly as you described.

Unfortunately kids thesedays award points for NOT missing with knives. :(

Talking of knives, is it true there's a ..:D

Thank you, I have some idea of what I want to say but haven't written it out yet.

I haven't written the card to with the flowers yet either - not sure what would be suitable, first time doing this for family.:(

I'm still catching up but just wanted to say my thoughts and {{{hugs}}} are with you and your family.

I read a poem with my brother at my Grandad's funeral , Look For Me In Rainbows, I am one of these people who can not stand speaking in front of a group, I hate it. So with the fact of being so upset added in to the mix as well I wasn't sure I would be able to do it, I also cry so easily too so was worried that I would break down. Just before I got up to read I started shaking uncontrolably and getting butterflies...

Anyway, I managed to stay strong, my voice did start to waiver and break at first but I just thought about how proud my Grandad would have been for me doing that for him, I'd read at my Nana's funeral also and I know how proud he was of me for doing that too. I took a deep breath and carried on.
It was after when I sat down and knew I could relax that I broke down. But I was so glad I'd got up there and done it.

What MrsJagger says is so true, there is nothing to be ashamed of in crying or showing your emotions, and if that happens when you do your reading then so be it, if you really want to do this then I am sure you will find the strength to stand up there.

As for what's suitable for the card.. think from your heart, and whatever you decide upon is suitable :A

Went and got 6 more treasure eggs after work :EasterBun

Also picked up some of the fizzy orange juice that someone mentioned a few days ago (sorry can't for the life of me remember who it was though :o:o) for 25p, so will give that a bash and see what it's like :)

Nothing else exciting to report. Apart from the fact I'm now on holiday for the next 3 WEEKS :dance::dance::dance::dance:
