All this talk of knives and dangerous activities reminded me of a game we used to play as kids which was called "knifey" and a variant which might have been called "stretch"? Does anyone remember playing it and do kids still play it? (may have been very local though)
Vague memories, but it involved standing opposite each other on grass with legs apart and taking turns to throw the knife in between the feet. If it stuck in the ground, one foot would be moved to that point and so on until the feet were together. Definitely not a game to play in bare feet or thin shoes as I recall:eek:
I remember that game, we were only allowed to play it with butter knives or it would have been too dangerous . Kids don't know how to play proper games anymore:rotfl:0 -

Made my first christmas cake from the Mary Berry pack this afternoon - smells gorgeous. I dont make many cakes as only I eat them, but I had almost forgotten how good it is to eat the 'scrapes from the bowl' like I used to when mum made cakes.
Hope it sets okay because I added a large spoon of honey and extra cherries to mine.
