Just had a PM apparently I am keeping a low profile regarding these alleged penny knives!

So can I just make it clear I am not keeping a low profile, a silly thing called life is getting in the way at the moment. TBH I really don't care a jot about penny knives, especially as I can see exactly what is happening to this thread. Just because an item is a penny doesn't mean I need it nor am I about to buy it because it's just a penny.

The FB troll could have been nipped in the bud, but no we had to have this whole drama. Sometimes people are their own worst enemies.
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!

My next older brother keeps banging on about how he was thd least favourite child and do wasn't that close to mum, I mean seriously he's mid 40s get over it. Anyway he asked if my 11 yr old was going to the service and I said no in case I feel the need to hammer and wail on the coffin - I know I shouldn't wind him up but now is not the time to speak badly of our mum. ;)

 Ahhhhhhh what's happening to the thread?!

:hello:Afternoon all, can't stay long, gonna have to walk to the supermarkets today for Sunday whoopsies as Mum's got the car and I've still got wet hair and no make up :o Was up til 6:20am making the bloomin cake! The sky was rapidly brightening and the birds singing at the top of their lungs when I eventually hit the hay!

The cake is/was a disaster!! :( The blue layer I had to put so much colour in it, the mixture tastes a bit weird and it's still so pale, you really wouldn't know it was blue and same for the red, but I added a spoonful of cocoa powder to bring out the richness and it does't look too bad :o The icing was the buggest disaster though. I'd read about combining buttercream with whipped cream to make a less sweet icing than straight buttercream and because the cake has 5 layers it takes a lot of icing and buttercream would have been very sickly....bad decision! :( Icing was too runny as I'd wanted to pipe it so it was in and out of the freezer for hours, I used a whole box of icing sugar! and eventually decided I'd whisk in melted white chocolate cooled to room temp so it didn't split the mixture. Well I tried a small bit to begin with and it worked well so I did the whole bowlful....which resulted in the chocolate hardening into small lumps as I stirred it through because the icing was so cold!! :(:(:(:( It still tastes gorgeous but it mean ti couldn't pipe it and I really wanted to have a go at piping roses! Grrrr!!!! Ahh well at 6 I just had to call it a night....I think it'll be ok :o:o:o:o:o (Will post when Mum cuts it, if it's public worthy!)

I was a right susie homemaker yesterday, a woman on a mission! Tidying and cleaning like a banshee so I could have a rest today :p (not gonna happen!)

Thanks to kadison for adding me on 'the other side' :p

Hope we're all well, appologies I'm likely not going to catch up over the last couple of days though with the current 'tiller infestation' not sure I want to!

    Hugs to the Elite :Axxxx

I love this thread. My nearest T is a small store in central Scotland and they never seem to have the stuff you lot get, best I ever got was the 1p green tea, not seen any of the recent chocs.:)

But I rattle about the house with my OH and my gorgeous dog. Reading this forum keeps me in the 'real' world. I love all the daft stories and HC's tips etc. Also I feel for all the folk having a tough time at the moment and try to show some support.

In any office, club, committee there are always plonkers who try to spoil things for others but it's up to the nice guys to keep the good vibes going.

Thanks to all you great folks for sharing, and I'll try to join in more, although by nature I'm quite shy.

PS I do the quiz every day to keep the grey matter working!:rotfl:

Need some help. Yesterday I was sorting my stash in the shed and came across a bottle of bleach that had leaked all over the stack box. So I cleaned it all out but seemed to have got some on my new black cardie. Any ideas how I can fix it??

Absolutely! And a complete gentleman, too.

He had great respect for his fellow professionals.
