It was very sticky so took the tin of bread flour out to add some to the mix and it was crawling with flour mites. I have been plagued with them and keep my baking flour in a kilner jar but I thought this tin was also airtight. They even managed to crawl into a McDougall's flour tub with a plastic pop up lid. Only telling you all this because the more flour you store the more likely you are to have these things. As the coupon doesn't expire until the end of the year just buy what you need for the week.
I buy the large klippit tubs from the 99p store and stick the label off the flour on the side, i do the same for bags of sugar I will store the bread mixes in a big sealed box as most of my stash goes in the utility room anyway0 -

Morning all.
Good start to the day ...
No bargains or 1p items, just a handful of wombles and a £5 note in T's car park.
Question ....... for the whoopsie meat/fish/poultry that has 'use by' of that or the next day, is it ok to freeze on the day and use up to a month later, or does it have to be used on day of purchase?
Always freeze my whoopsies on their use by date have even been known to day after but would not recommend it. And as for using it month/3 months later. I had smoked salmon fillets for tea last night and they had March last year on them were nearly exactly a year old. No ill effects this morning and they were delicious, flavour and quality had not been impaired at all. I am not advocating that it is ok to do for this long as have never left anything for that long before usually around 6 months. But these got overlooked probably because only 2 of them and not often me and OH eat by ourselves.0 -

Just some major troll who obviously has a grudge against MSE, or is extremely jealous and has lots of time on his hands
