I wasn't saying don't go to the funeral I was saying I can't go to funerals what I meant was, she is going to need more support after the funeral is over in the coming days & months & the relatives etc start to get on with their normal lives & the widow feels lonely & in need of company & support.

All I can say is don't stay away, she needs friends around her who knew both of them or even just her but she'll also need someone in the future - I know from recient experience :(
The worst thing you can do is leave her alone or not visit or phone her at least.
I have had so called close friends who even almost a year since DH died still pretend they haven't seen me, cross the road when they do or turn and go in the opposite direction just because they're not sure how I'll react, this hurts more than if they just said 'Hi' Even most of DHs family won't speak to me, don't even call to see how we are coping and it hurts so much.

Just call and see her even if you don't know what to say to her, she'll appreciate you being there :heartpuls

That dress is stunning, high heels, a 50s style bag and a big brimmed hat and you all all set. Just thought there, a pillbox hat would look great with it too.
You have to wear something you just love at your daughters wedding..
I am 54 and would def wear that dress.

Thanks for the above. I am no way a tarty dresser. Last year I went to a dinner dance with my OH. I wore a long halter neck dress which was black and white, I had a little red handbag, red earings and matching necklace,Toni`s reaction was....Mum you look stunning :)
    Many thanks again
