BG lost millions when customers flew the coup over the last couple of years so how can they recoup some of that loss?

The answer, lets create a fixed price plan till whenever and push it out to everyone. So the customer thinks wow my price is fixed and going on how the prices have increased this year im going to save a fortune.

Then bang, wholesale prices drop so hey everyone will benefit right? WRONG your in a fixed deal, your going nowhere, you will now be paying more till 2008 or whatever. If you want to get out we'll charge you for it!

Got to hand it to them, very clever indeed.

mmm, there's been a lot of discussion about it in these existing threads on the topic, was another one really necessary? As a utility warehouse distributor, I can't imagine you're with BG so I'm not sure what you're getting so worked up about.

Also it would be fair to point out there is only one fixed tariff more expensive than the new standard rate with a cancellation fee. The rest are either still cheaper or have no fee.

Yes but as prices drop which i imagine they will even more then the price fix seems to me a great way of recouping lost profits. Not just BG ofcourse any co. that offered these deals.

  • So the people who gambled that it would save them money if prices went up have lost their gamble as it drops down?

Prices go up and down, are people that dumb not to know that. They took a gamble and lost - and its BG's fault??

What if prices had carried on going up, would BG have been able to go back to customers and say "sorry, we are now losing money you have to pay up", course not.

Take it on the chin, its a gamble they lost.

I'm a newbie moneysaver, genuinely interested in the MSE utilities forum, but I'm getting utterly fed up of seeing the pyramid type propaganda from various utilities agents – is there any way we can block their responses?

Not true - Most suppliers offer capped rates - So the prices will not go up but will come down if prices are reduced.

As a utility warehouse distributor I would have thought you would have known that or is that a way to push people into joining you?

Most people have stated that their prices are fixed, that means fixed at the set rates so if prices drop this will not effect them.Like in biz contracts the rates are set for the given period.

And by the way i dont push people into joining us they come of their own free will.I have saved hundreds of customers money over the last seven years.

Slightly different to Domestic rates your referring to though isn't it. Who are the main suppliers that only supply fixed rates to domestic customers, and how many of those charge penalty fees if they change products because as far as I know it was only Bgas on one product and that is likely to be scrapped anyways.

Biz rates are set for 1 / 2 years but thats completely different to Domestic prices that fluctuate.

Erm, perhaps the person I quoted in my reply, hmmm? Why shouldn't they be told how to block your posts if that's what they want?
