1st Neg

Well I've joined the ranks of real eBayers and got my fist neg from a right numpty. They didnt understand the concept of Pickup only, and have now neg'ed me as they live somewhere in North Scotland and I dont.

Anyway, to my question, is it worth replying to feedback, or do I leave alone and wear the neg with pride? Will it get me anywhere or just open up a can of worms?

Thanks

Just reply with something factual and not abusive. I got negative for selling an item of mens clothing as a Large - the buyer said it was labelled an L and not a Large and so gave me a neg. I always thought it was L=Large so I just replied stating that.

    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

Might be worth contacting ebay to see if they'd remove it- it's a long shot, but you never know.
Otherwise yes, just a simple and factual follow up reply will do - then any potential buyers checking your feedback will see that the neg was undeserved :)

You should ALWAYS respond politely to a neg.

Just put "Item clearly listed as collection only. Buyer lives 200 miles away and refuses to collect"
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Yeah honestly, I couldn't believe it myself - some people are crazy.

You will need to open a npb dispute so that will back you up when you contact ebay and ask them to remove it.

OP says they have already done a mutual, so can't now NPB. Otherwise the NPB would have got rid of the neg automatically.

I'm going to contact eBay when I get a chance today or tomorrow, but doubt I'll see may fees again.

If I reply to the feedback, can they reply to my reply? And of course I can't neg them

    Thanks

If you respond then they can resply to your response. However whilst a neg can be bad news for a seller it can also reflect badly on a buyer as well.

Sometimes sellers do look at buyers history of leaving feedback, and seeing a neg for something that was their fault may well get their bid pulled. So you need to decide how much attention you want to draw to the neg, maybe a follow up like 'collection only and buyer refused to collect' . As for leaving them feedback, I wouldn't bother leaving anything at all.

As for your fees, if buyer declined the mutual then yes i'm afraid they have gone and you cannot reclaim them.
