Hurrah for spellcheck
it does make life easier!
HBS x"I believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another."

I have employed many people as well as being a prospective employee and would say the most important information was in the covering letter. It's the first impression of a person, a bit like giving them the once over when they walk in the room, it tells you such a lot about the person and can make or break an application for me.
The employee will have done the groundwork and I will ASSUME they are qulified for the job (maybe incorrectly?) so rarely bother with more than a cursory glance of the CV. I like a good cover letter, brimming with confidence and enthusiasm and interest for my company

Only to a point. If you use the word "their' it will check it's spelled correctly, but not that it's the right word.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

Oddly I never had any trouble with English and was very good at it at school, but in most jobs I had I never needed to write and so I guess I just lost it, I will admit myself it is very poor now, as is my maths, I guess what they say is true, use it or lose it.0 -

And more and more companies include a practical exercise as part of the recruitment process. That's where you'd get found out (and your spell checker wouldn't help you there).

I applied for a job where as far as I was concerned I met all the criteria but was turned down even though I told her I could do all that was on the job spec. The agency said she had 'many' applicants that met it like for like. Yet only 3 weeks later she was emailing me saying she had found my CV online and was I interested in the job detailed in the email. I thought hang on a minute isn't that they one she truned me down for. LOL Erm no thanks!

That may be the case but she told me, not once but twice that I was not suitable for the role as like for like I didn't match the criteria. If she then is going to say something different after finding my CV (the same CV) online 3 weeks later then maybe she should have not turned me down in the first place.
So you are still unemployed because you let pride and the fact you have to be their first choice stand in the way of getting a job. Way to go. That makes perfect sense. JSA is so much better than a paying job that I can see why you'd be on your high horse.0
