    Can I join this thread?

    Welcome. :)

Polly - could you use the Denby as a holder for kitchen utensils? I've got two (not Denby!) - one either side of my hob. One holds all the wooden implements and the other all the non stick stuff.
    Thanks for the suggestion, silvasaver.

I have a cutlery drainer pot (with holes in the bottom) in this design.
I do tend to keep as much stuff off the worktops as possible so keep my cooking utensils in a drawer under the hob.
    Still thinking about it.
I have 3 cacti that would go in it and look OK but these are also in Denby planters (1960s style) interspered by this other Denby stuff - and I'm a bit OCD with patterns so I think it would 'jar' not to have a 'one of those, then one of those' on the windowsill. :o

I'm tending towards buying it and deciding what to use it for/where to put it later, although I have a sneaky feeling it will have gone. :(

I got a Susie Faulks bag, which looks brand new, from cats protection for £1.99! I got it because it was pretty, don't have a clue about brands but googled it and it goes for £60!

Not heard of her but Googled & the bags look fab, just the sort I'd like.

Couldn't resist a Monsoon summer dress in coral, lime & jade with cut-a-way armholes (not sure what the style is called).
It was maxi but I'm shortening it. It'll make a lovely day dress for holidays.
I also have a pair of Paver sandals in exactly the same colour way.
    £2.99 Barnados.

I've put 2 dresses on the charity shop pile so I feel quite virtuous.

Bought myself a long cotton M&S skirt, bit of a mad pattern in green and white stripes and swirls with nice button detail on the pockets, I don't normally go for long skirts but it looks like it will be lovely and cool to wear £5 (ok I know thats not exactly cheap but those are the prices around here!) DD found a lovely blue light weight Joules gilet for £4 label said it was marked but we haven't found it yet! plus a chiffon top with a dog pattern £1.50 and a pair of denim shorts also £1.50. Oh and my favourite a Woods Wear jug in Beryl, pale green. I donated all my cups and saucers in this style last week as I never use them and don't have room to make a display but jugs are always useful!!

Next dark denim jacket, sort if a bomber style, also £1
(these won't be worn together - don't do the double denim thing!)

Have seen a piece of Denby (:hello: DigForVictory :)) in our local hospice shop.
It's from a range they did in the 1990s, hand painted (usually marked 'Lyn' who was one of their 'paintresses').
It's a storage jar but missing the lid.
I have 6 pieces of this in my kitchen that we bought from the Denby Factory shop, it's painted with tomatoes, aubergines and peas.
Pondering whether I could use it as a planter for one of my tall cacti or Mother-in=law's tongue.
I must have stood for 5 minutes with it in my hand yesterday in the shop, as I ran through what I'd already got on my kitchen windowsill.
If it's still there tomorrow when I go into town, I'll buy it. I think.
Well, I bought it, for £5.00
    It stands about 8" high.
Still not sure what I'm going to do with it (one of the cacti does fit in it) but it will stay in the kitchen with the other stuff of the same design.

Nothing much to report lately except a very pretty long linen scarf by 'Lettuce' with impressionist-type flowers on a cream back ground, £1 from the community chazza :)

For the second time, in the same local charity shop, I got a haul of items in the same size for DS for next year (all age 2-3 - He'll be one in just over two months! :O ) that seem to have come from the same donation. This lot were ALL Next and all 99p each. Three shirts, a vest, a t-shirt and a pair of jeans.

I'm highly suspicious that they've even come from the same donor. Last time it was a bundle of 12-18mth & 18-24mth items and the colours/styles are the same, which suit my DS perfectly.

Also got two tops and another pair of those loose jersey fabric, patterned trousers that have been my lifeline in the heat lately! All £1.50 each.

30/09/19 - Details now dropped off debt register. :o

I follow this thread with interest but every time I cram my newly ironed clothes in one of our wardrobes (immediately creasing and crunching them up again because they're so full !) I keep telling myself that the only time I should be visiting charity shops in the foreseeable future is to HAND STUFF IN rather than accumulating more bargains.

My OH increasingly complains that his share of wardrobe accommodation grows smaller by the year and he's right! I find that since I retired my need for more formal working clothes has drastically reduced and I live mostly in casual tops and trousers yet it's easy to be tempted by a nice dress "Just in case a suitable occasion arises".

Its great when that happens! They grow up so quickly, you can share the love and re-donate the smart stuff that is barely worn knowing that some other little lad will benefit.
