    LOL, exactly!

For what the cake was (had it come out correct) that was reasonably priced, people don't realise how much time goes into the decorating and that is what usually makes the cakes expensive, then when it is made using fresh ingredients from scratch then that too cost more rather than the ready made sponge mix, if it was a packet sponge mix, then there is no way I would be paying £70, the cakes in the link below are nice, but expensive and from packet mix.

How do you know they are from a Packet mix?

Nope, I honestly think you have been....and I have baked and tasted more than is normal.

And what has you being able to bake and taste more than normal got to do with my issue?

If witnesses at my party all agree something is wrong and prepared to come to court, I make contact with cake person and she initally ignores me, then makes no attempt to see what the problem is, then she is trading illegally, not paying taxes, not legally registered, I doubt very much a court would look favourably on her, so no it was not a case of luck, she messed up and as a paying customer I have rights, if she was just knocking about on some blog and did this as a hobby then fine, but this was not the case.

Had I not been able to log with small claims then yes I would have been lucky, as she could have (and would have if I didnt mention small claims) just keep ingnoring me knowing there was nothing else I could do, but the law was on my side in this instance, nothing more, nothing less.

she does not want to advertise her address, however WHOIS have put an end to that and have taken her out of the option to hide address as she is clearly running a business,

Good ol' WHOIS comes to the rescue.. is there anything it can't do.. well there is.. but that's not the point!

Glad you've had a good result from this :D

Thanks chimp and everyone who was supportive and helpful. I made the kids a cake myself last week to compensate not iced or decorated but it tasted wonderful. I'd post a picture but not sure how to.
