I thought Ryanair had no weight restriction? or is that Easyjet?
I have managed fine for a weeks holiday with just hand luggage with both, so I'm sure you'll be fine for 4 nights :)

    Ryanair's limit is 10kg.

Easyjet was no limit as long as you could lift it into the overhead locker.

This was last time I looked on their websites.

Unless you are in the habit of carrying a ball gown and tuxedo just in case you are invited to the Ambassador's Ball then clothing is the least of your problems. What takes up space & weight is electronics, books, pills, potions & beauty aids. Crack down on them and you'll have little problem hitting the 10kg limit

Please may I add shoes to your list, one of the biggest culprits.

Have just returned from a weeks hol in spain with hubby:jflew with ryanair with just hand luggage no problems. Wore the heaviest things jeans fleeces coats etc, took a borrowed kindle for reading material, decanted all fluids into 100ml bottles ( four for a pound from primark )then put in 20x20cm recealable bags ( 69p for forty from wilkos, a pound each at the airport:eek: )plenty of clothes for a week, didnt wear it all, you just need to think about what you are going to wear. Word of warning though, make sure your bag is just under the ten kilos as the ryanair gestapo were out in force at Birmingham airport, but not evident at all in Spain!! The weather was fantastic and didnt wear half of it:D Happy holidays:) P.s Only took one pair of shoes plus the ones I had on, they always tip the scales over the edge! Took a pair of evening shoes that went with everything and wore the other pair, sorted!
enjoy every day, you dont know how long youve got!:o

We never had any problem at all managing with the 10kg hand luggage.

We got cases from Sports Direct, about £7.99 each, and pack light with t shirts, shorts etc. and underwear. Footwear, just two pairs. Wear one and use the other pair to cushion things like electric razor, toothbrush, camera - put them inside the shoe and pack out with rolled up socks.

We both wear light jackets with as many pockets as possible, so we can fit paperbacks, in flight butties, etc.in the pockets. Even extra rolled up underwear if need be.

We can easily pack for a 7 day holiday with a 10kg hand luggage allowance.

I'm a lady and I can cope for a week or ten days away with a 10kg bag, including bits of food I need to take with me. Most important advice is DO NOT under any circumstances assume you will get away with your bag being even a ,little bit over the dimensions or weight allowances given, and that included wheels, handles etc. The case quoted by an earlier poster is given as being slightly over the permitted dimensions, and often websites don't include the wheels etc. I have one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RYANAIR-CABIN-BAG-HAND-LUGGAGE-FLIGHT-HOLDALL-55X40X20-/320833501199?pt=UK_Tickets_Travel_Luggage_CA&var=&hash=item76c189f000.

It's designed to be exactly the right dimensions, it's light and as long as you don't overstuff it it will be fine. You will have to carry it as it has no wheels, but against that you don;t hav the wheels weighing anything or taking up space. It's also useful having a top zip if you are a lady, so you can keep putting your handbag in and taking it out again at the airport, and it has a useful side zipped pocket.

Folding bags like this are also useful if you just want to have a hold bag one way, eg if you want to bring some duty free or other stuff back, you can fold it up in a hard case going out and then check the hard case into the hold coming back and use this as your cabin carry on.
    Hope is not a strategy.

When I was working for Jet2.com, we were only able to charge for each full kilogramme over the limit so a bag weighing (for example) 10.9 kg against a limit of 10 kg would not incur a charge.
Glenn, that is the reason why I thought I would be ok with 10.3 or 10.5 as their scales displayed. But, it seems that they have a different approach to hand luggage.
As I said earlier I had been charged by Ryanair for a suitcase that was over on a previous journey, I thought that they would apply the same process to hand luggage. OH NO!
