Break times at work

Hi all.
Just a quick question. I have a job in call centre working for vodafone. Previously the campaign i worked on the hours were as follows.
12pm till 8pm monday to friday with 2 x 15 mins break and 1 x 30 mins dinner. Pay is 14500 per year before tax.
We have been moved to new inbound campaign with new hours as folllows:
10 hr shift 4 days on 3 days off on a rota. So im working same amount of hours during the month but get a day off a week as such for working extra 2 hrs on my shift. same pay.
Now, break times are in dispute. Although we are working an extra 2 hrs on shift we are not allowed any extra break. Instead they have broke 2 x 15 mins into 3 x 10 mins. Which is quite difficult to get a bite to eat in an get back comfortably on time, etc. 15 mins works well.
They are saying that we get an extra day off. We are saying, we have moved campaign from one where each week we would get a total of five hours breaks where as now technically we are getting 1 hour less than we did on old campaign. Day off does not involve a working dinner time and breaks...?
It is a confusing sitation and it being a sales company....well, you can guess the rest.
So some clarity, info, thoughts and discussions welcome. We should be due a visit of HR to explain some things but id like to see other peoples opinions. We are dealing with very frustrated customers who want to terninate contracts. Stressfull stuff so the extra break times seem fair...?

You'll be getting a lunch break as well as the 3x10 minute breaks, won't you?
If so, why would you need to eat anything substantial during the 10 minute breaks?Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

And IMO the extra day off is well worth it. Many people would give their eye teeth to work a 4 day week. I moved 200 miles to be able to do it!!Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

so 1 hour break per 8 hour shift (1x30,2x15)
1 hour break per 10 hour shift (3x10,1x30) ?
however the extra 2 hours is covered by a day off
TBH Im not really sure if its such a bad deal.0 -

Not mention that your "costs" of going to work will reduce by 1/5th.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

999 operators get less breaks than that (on a 12 hour shift). Which is more stressful, do you think?Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.

just had a look
heres the RM breakk set upAttendance length............total breaks..... probable pattern
Less than 2 hours 30 minutes none (a 10 min grace break should be provided if work permits)
2 hours 30 to 3 hours................10 mins.................. 10
3 hours 1 to 3 hours 30..... .......15 mins....................15
3 hours 31 to 4 hours 59..... .......20 mins.................. 20
5 hours to 7 hours................... 30 mins...................30
7 hours 1 to 8 hours 59..... .......40 mins..............40 or 20 + 20
9 hours to 10 hours 59...............50 mins................30 + 20
11 hours to 12 hours 59..... .......60 mins............. 40 + 20 or 30 + 30
13 hours or longer..... ..............70 mins..................40 + 300 -
Im in two minds about it.
Thing with me is, it takes me 2 hours to get to work on the bus and same to get home. I think this is where my problems lie.. i need a new job lol!debt free wanabeee0 -

Everybody else is arguinging that tens mins isnt quite enough for each break (because there used to 15mins) and that 2 x 15 mins is also not enough for length of shift we do in comparison to previous shift. bunch of moanin sales people loldebt free wanabeee0
