Forgot to mention 2 weekends we work sat n sun 10 hrs. Not simple monday to thursday and friday off with weekend. Crazy rotating shift patterns.

We feel for what we are doing compared to what we used to we should get something a little extra. sometimes we do six days in a row starting at 8 am lol.

My situation is alot different to most i guess this is why it all seems more amplified to me.

Again, I refer you to 999 operators. You really have very little to whinge about here.

Not mention that your "costs" of going to work will reduce by 1/5th.

Not necessarily. Depends on whether the OP pays per journey or has any kind of season ticket.

999 operators get less breaks than that (on a 12 hour shift). Which is more stressful, do you think?

we get 1/2 hour for 8 hours shift in our control room, by the end of the shift i'm knackered :D I would love an extra 10/15 mins.

Everybody else is arguinging that tens mins isnt quite enough for each break (because there used to 15mins) and that 2 x 15 mins is also not enough for length of shift we do in comparison to previous shift. bunch of moanin sales people lol

I can see your point. How about offering to drop 5 mins off your lunch in exchange for 3x15 mins break. Sounds good to me.:)

Look on the bright side, regulations say that you need only be given a 20 min break for a shift > 6 hrs

Me, I would rather work on 999 than meeting conversion targets on customers who want to terminate their contracts, some of whom are irate. Primarily because i would not wish to be the whipping boy for the employers own self inflicted injuries.
