Attention Capital 1 "wait 14 days" people!!

Options
Just to satisfy my curiosity I was just wondering if there is any pattern to thier decisions to look into some peoples applications but accept otheres straight away.

We got the 14 day message but I am wondering if thats because we have only been at our current address for less than 2 years so had to fill in the last address details too. Anyone else suspect that they have things like this holding up their application? Or for those that have been instantly accepted did you have any previous addresses or anything else to put on your application?

I said in the other thread that I suspect that we will be getting a decline letter soon as no-one seems to have posted that they have been refused online but I guess we have to wait and see

I also got the 14 day message and i have lived at my address for the last 7 years.Maybe they do it so that they can cherry pick the biggest balance transfers,i only had £2300 to transfer.
Who knows we will have to wait and see. :)

Thanks. I didn't put down any balance transfer at the moment prefering to wait and see how much a credit limit I got, hope that hasn't backfired!

just filled in the application and had the same 14 days wait message , have lived at the same address for over 25 years so it cant be that did ask for balance transfer so i thought it was that but from other postings looks like lots of people are getting the same message

I have lived at my address for 6 years, asked for a fairly large BT from my egg card - (for some reason the system argued with me that my other CC accoutn number was invalid)!

And I got the 14 day message.

No rhyme or reason it seems....
    Bank Charges Claimed: 180

I put 17 years at address, and no balance transfer details entered, and [not mentioned here so far] I have recently cancelled a Capital One card. So I was applying within 6 months of having hled an account with them. Although is not stated by them as grounds for not applying [i.e. am not an 'existing cardholder' and 'have not applied in the last 6 months'] I suspect it will be rejected by them anyway

[In general, the longer it actually takes for them to get back to you, the more likely it is you have been accepted!]

yep- i got the wait message too- thought it was due to me only being at present address since the new year- ironic thing is I am still getting 'pre-approved' mailings from Capital One redirected from my old address!

Between my wife and myself we have had 8 of those at this address in the past 5 weeks, how annoying will it be if we are turned down for this offer!

I'm in the "14-Day" club. I have a short but perfect credit history. I have lived at the same address for 21 years, but I think I get hit because I am "Living with Parents".
Perhaps we could have a poll: How many people get instantly accepted, how many people get accepted despite getting the 14-day message, how many people get offered 6 months instead, and how many people get refused all-together?
