I've had my eye on the kobo e-reader for a while, and I finally reached the required total of points this weekend. But when I logged on today, I noticed the description of the e-reader has changed, and now it's just called an "e-reader", with no mention of the brand.
I also noticed there's a disclaimer saying that they reserve the right to substitute another item, of similar value and purpose to the one in the picture. But since there's no indication of the value or brand of the one in the picture, that seems pretty meaningless! At least the kobo was a recognisable brand with a price that can be checked, so you could make an informed decision as to whether it was a better bet than just cashing in the points for a voucher.
I'm pretty sure it's been described as a kobo for the past few months, (anyone able to confirm this?) so it seems a bit cheeky if they've suddenly changed it to something else just at the point when people have finally acquired enough points to get one!0 -

I was going to stop a while back and have hung on in there so now glad that I did but still don't know for how long. I'll need to have another read to find out what changes are going to happen. I don't like the thought of everything going up in points again as that's already happened and it made the collection not so worthwhile. One good thing is that they have removed the collection period end date and any points you earned before 6 September 2012 will last for 2 years until 6 September 2014. Any points you earn after 6 September 2012 will only last one year so expire on 6 September 2013.
What I haven't been able to find out is can you just collect Monday to Saturday as that would be really good as we don't normally go out for the Sunday paper (we like a day off lol). That means, for everyone in the same situation, that we would be able to collect 200 points every week so would have 10,400 in a year less 400 as it won't be a full year this year with the Reward Club having a 2 week break to get the new system up and running. Normally 10,400 would be great if you buy the Mon-Sat papers anyway so I suppose you will be able to get something for nothing even when they put the points up for the items. It used to be that you needed the Sunday papers to meet the cut-off period but doesn't look as if you need the Sunday paper now although your points would add up quicker with the extra 150 but at a great cost over the year if you only buy it specially."For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone."0 -
Well, day 3 of the new regime and I've been let down - no number on the back page of yesterday's paper - eeek, Didn't get round to it until last night and then too late to go back and get paper changed (we have it delivered).
Can't find out if I go through missing number route how many times you can do this now - has anyone seen any info on this?
Oh well, it's only 10 points, but I guess I'll miss out on the 50 extra points for the Monday-Friday numbers.
If anyone does have a spare Monday code it would be very much appreciated.
TIA.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift - the present.0 -
No need to ask for a code, give the Mail Rewards helpline a call or use the online facility.
ailey, under the scheme you can collect points when you want. So if you don't want to collect on a Sunday, you don't have to. Points are banked instantly so no need to collect x points by y date.0
