I've also got into the habit of pulling out the TV Guide after buying the paper but before leaving the shop and making sure the code is in there, no idea where these lucky people live that have had two codes in their bundle but after hearing the stories on here I don't trust the shop to sell me a complete paper.
I too check that the card's there if the TV guide is unwrapped, or if it's wrapped, I check the bag for holes, but even then there have still been problems and I've had to phone the helpline three times in the past 5 weeks. On two occasions - a sealed bag but no card. On the third occasion (mag not wrapped this time) the card was there but the code came up as 'not valid' when I tried to enter it. It was still within the deadline so I can only surmise that some scoundrel had copied the code before I bought the paper. The helpline people were apologetic but the issues are happening too frequently for my tolerance level.:mad::mad:
I feel the cards need to be redesigned e.g. as scratchcards so that the code is not openly visible and vulnerable to copying, and they could be given out at the till when you buy the paper, instead of us having to check / hope that the card's inside the magazine.0 -

Sorry that's a bit cheeky. Especially as I see all your posts thus far are requesting codes.
Personally if I had a spare code it would go to a regular user, not one who I suspected had joined MSE just to ask for codes (and there are alot of them on this topic). Although you at least said you may be able to swap.davieslaura81 wrote: »We all have to start somewhere. I only found out about this forum today and if I had known sooner I would have posted a number of spare codes much earlier.
I am asking for a code to get a DVD for my mum for Xmas and if that is being cheeky, well, fine, but I believe my mum is worth fighting for. And as I do not have much money I rely on these vouchers for Xmas prezzies.Fair enough but you'll appreciate all the chancers on this topic. And if I joined a forum and was then going to ask for something, I would make a few other posts first
KxMx has posted almost my thoughts exactly.
Many FIRST TIME EVER post on the DAY OF JOINING MSE requesting codes - Sorry IT'S NOT CRICKET
Very very occasional rare event = FIRST TIME EVER post on the DAY OF JOINING MSE POSTING codes .....
... NOW the latter's a CREDIT to the member - and I highlighted the recent case of Debtbust doing this last week- a NEWBIE PAR EXCELLENCE.
As for "posting spare codes earlier" to gain credence, sincerity or genuineness for later requests, IT'S NOT NECESSARY
If you have some GREAT :j
If not just become part of MSE.
IF you think you might JUST ONE DAY need a code, be it next week, next month or next year - JOIN the FORUM Community and make posts - 1 a day, 5 a day, 10 a day - CONTRIBUTE !!!!
Be USEFUL - Get SOME THANKS for BEING HELPFUL
Then when it MATTERS - you'll have positive attributes and "BEGGING" won't be necessary
As for the "Winning Member" in my "lottery" for (as yet) a single solitary code for last Sunday - it's Busylizzie
A member for over 3 years - a post count (at this instant) of 768
MORE OUTSTANDING is that 734 of these 768 posts HAVE BEEN THANKED
EVEN MORE OUTSTANDING is that these 734 posts have accrued 14,000 THANKS  :j
That's almost an average 20 thanks per post :j
Hope after all that you're A BLUSHING LIZZIE that's BUSY :rotfl:
PM on its way

Despite all the above I am still going to put out a request for a sunday code. I am not a new user and have often posted coupons etc to people (snail mail) or given codes out so I don't feel too bad asking.
I couldn't get the sunday paper for last 2 sundays due to circumstances that would make me look like I was making up a begging story if I went into it and if I don't get one its not the end of the world.0 -
Wow am super impressed with the Daily Mail reward club's efficiency, for once!
Input my last "Christmas saver" code on Sunday and was prompted to order my reward... and in this morning's post, only 3 days later, received my £20 high street gift card! :j:j:j
Very pleased indeed!!!0 -
My inlaws have got a Saturday code from their recycling but I'm going out in a minute and can't wait for pms, so afraid it'll be posted directly here.

Hi I am looking for a Sunday code please.
Seeing I am the person who has somehow sparked debate over the "begging" for codes issue, I must say have been slightly put off this forum. I am new to this site, and didn't know how it worked so I apologise. If I have appeared to be a "chancer" for being a newbie (despite the rules saying be nice to new people) I am sorry. Next week I will show you all that I am No chancer and can actually contribute by sending in codes - and sometimes there are many.
This Sunday the shop had sold out, the newspaper mags had been thrown away in work and my customer in the restaurant who collects them was ill this week.
Please PM me and give this newbie a chance and I will guarnatee hand on hand that next week I will deliver more to the group.
Thanks for your time0
