in Ebay, auctions, car boot sales, post & parcels
beware ebay users.recieved a email from sigutech asking if i'd recieved payment for a item,as they sent it yesterday? i'm currently not selling anything.when you click on the item number,it asks you to sign in.this user is after your password

    Thats a very common phishing mail, they just vary the name every few hours.

    Luckily it is one that doesn't get past many spam filters.

    Stick the the rule that for messages you log in safely and view them in your ebay messages. If they are not there they are scamming you.

    The real give away though is th elink to log in, that really shouldn't fool people.

    We must stop these scum bag scammers and the only way we can do that is to be vigilent.

    Keep an eye on it I guess, notify eBay if you see any suspicious activity with your account.

    I give them fake details to play with. Some are very clever though and actually
    tests your username and password as you enter it.

    When on my real ebay email address though i dont respond, As they know its a live email that maybe linked to ebay or paypal.

    I think my email addresses should be hidden from ebay users.

    I seem to get adverts from previous sellers now. Direct and not through ebay

    not sure about spam but definitely not enjoying the bidding experience. Seems no matter what you bid on, its a waste of time. Never in my life have I experienced that on everything.

    Not likely. Followed the norm, even ran a few test bids at the same time just to see where they would go. No longer an issue. Will go elsewhere to buy... ran across this forum doing the research.
