Morning ladies, sunny but chilly today, was rost on the ground when took woofer out.I have lots of catching up to do as not managing to get on very often :o
Mothers day was lovely, Ds2 made a surprise visit from swansea (uni). Boys told me that we were off out for dinner, when we got there all my sisters were there with their children. The children had all arranged to have a huge family meal for mothers day and had managed to keep it a secret from all of us. It was beautiful but was so so tired after. Got some lovely pressies and cards.
Have finally finished decorating the boys room . Was changing the curtain pole on sat and lost my balance and slipped, shoving the end of the pole through the ceiling:mad::mad:Ceiling is artexed but I have never artexed in my life and dont really want to start now. Hole is about 3-4 inches round. Any ideas ?????
Dd is off school today, nasty bug going round and she has picked it up.Dont think I will see much of her though she is tucked up in her bed atm.
Wm on, am going to pop a casserole in the slow cooker in a bit , house all tidy so nothing really to do there so with have a mooch around to see what I can find that needs doing.

    Have a lovely day all:)

    Morning Everyone :hello:

Thanks for the thoughts and hugs re my friend. I think when someone close to your age but younger goes, it just brings it home to you.:o

Today is being a lazy day so far, must dry my hair and make a start. DH "playing" outside ;), he's happy so that's fine. Need to put another loaf on, and decide on what we are having at tea time.
Apart from a tidy round, and put some bits and bobs away, that is it for today.

    Take care all. DG

Knock up a bit of filler /plaster, fill the hole and smooth over, wait for the filler to be tacky dry then get a scrunched up plastic bag and dab the filler so that it looks like artex, then paint over, wont look as professional as the rest, but should cover it up. Been there done that :o xx

Afternoon everyone. Lovely and sunny (and not too hot) in London but I'm just not feeling it, feeling very off. Had a nice weekend visiting family, I even stayed an extra night as I don't have anything on today. I wish I'd stayed a few more days tbh as all I'm doing is assignments until thursday and it's much quieter up there. I can't wait to move out of my student accommodation, I bloody hate it :(

  • Thank you all for the lovely welcome.

As usual, I have just plodded on with work today but I have now forced myself to have a little break so that I can "read and reflect" on here!

Its such a lovely day today - I am at work but its still nice to look out at.

No major plans for today - Im off to my weight watchers class this evening which means that its "treat night" when I return - couple of glasses of wine and something nice to eat. I really enjoy the class since its the only social thing that I do really and the people are very nice.

I will also plan my clothes for tomorrow and get myself sorted. I dont need to do a packed lunch because I brought one with me today but didn't fancy it and got a salad. So, tomorrow I will have that.

I will have a quick tidy round at home and ensure the kitchen is in a decent state etc before I go to bed.

I am so very sorry to read of the people who are having a sad time (sorry I haven't got to grips with all the names on here yet but I will).

    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Hi!

Haven't read through the weekends posts yet so am a bit behind on the news.

We had an exciting night at Drop-in yesterday. A new girl arrived out of her mind on anti-depressants and booze and threw the most almighty tantrum. In the end we had to call the police who in turn called the paramedics who somehow got through to her and took her off. It really upset all our regular clients who were rushing around protecting the helpers and making sure we were all right. I rather thought it was supposed to be the other way round but what would I know? They are very protective of us and won't tolerate any bad language or bad behaviour, apologising profusely if anything like that happens. Poor things. They are living on the edge and it's not surprising that most of them have some form of addiction and these sorts of incidents are bound to occur from time to time. Basically though they are decent people and there but for the grace of God go most of us.

What a gorgeous day today. A lovely gentleman from church who is retired and a bit bored, came round and weeded my front garden this morning - all for a few cups of tea and homemade biscuits. Aren't people kind?

I am drowning in paperwork atm and it's going to ages to sort it out and get stuff filed so I think it will have to be the 15 minute efforts.

Made the bread this am and veg soup. Not sure what's for dinner but there is enough in the freezer to keep us going for a good while.

I'm off to read through the last couple of days and catch up.

    Afternoon all

Beautiful day here :D sunny and relatively warm.

Got my work kids back today, they have been on work placement for last 3 weeks. Although sadly I had to sack one first thing this morning cos his attitude was all wrong and he has had far too many chances :(. Hopefully this will give the other the kick they need to commit to the last few weeks. Despite this we all had a fab day, it was one of the girls 18th birthday so I bought a cake (sorry didn't have time to bake! :rotfl:) and card. She was very touched. We did some work in the morning and then went out for a spin this afternoon. Went to a local castle for a walk :)and then stopped off in the park on the way back so they could play on the swings!

I lost 3.5lbs last week :) good start on Weighwatchers, can't believe I lost that much considering how much I drank on Sat! :rotfl:

I'm home a bit early from work, going to do bit of uni work now and then pop out to the shops to have a look at some clothes.

OS wise - recycling went out this morning, WM on now.

    Have a fab day all
