The ones I buy are the plain white oval ones and they don't really cause me any grief on a laminate floor but I suppose I don't keep them long enough to find out. In my experience they washed nicely and dry very quickly so I buy a few every time I go

Hi, im a bit late in joining in-but we have a white bath mat from ikea, the oval kind of one which was cheap. i have had it quite a while now, have washed it loads and used it on carpet and lino-and have no problems with it to be honest. It hasnt left any marks, or caused me hassle. Ive also got a slightly more expensive mat from there-a big round one with a modern design on it, also havent had any problems with that either? my mom also brought one and hasnt had any probs too, and she shoves everything in the tumble dryer!

    keelykat.

ps-dont bother with the matts that are made from 'loops', they look great (nice textures and colours from matalan) but dont dry! Stick to flat ones that will dry quicker!

    Hi all
I've also got a couple of oval 99p Ikea mats and have to say, like keeleykat, I've had no problems. We've got a varnished wooden floor in the bathroom and it hasn't damaged it at all.

I do make sure that the mat is lifted and put over the side of the bath after everyone has finished in the bathroom, and I wash it every week - perhaps this has stopped the rubber perishing?!

I'm not sure of the best way to clean the residue, but I'd start with hot soapy water and elbow grease. I'm not sure whether you could remove the discolouration - you might find it's become part of the lino...

Ditto here. Had the Ikea mats described here on tile, and now carpet for the past year. No issues.Perhaps it is what youa re cleaning your floor with reacting to the rubber backing?
