TalkTalk

Ive been with Talktalk for approx 7 years now and I stupidly agreed on the phone to another 2 year contract. This contract is due to end in January 2013. However I am recieving such a poor service, the internet is unusable after 5pm. I have been on talktalk forum where many people are complaining of the same issue. Yet they always say, your line is clear with no faults. I contacted Talktalk and they will not allow me to leave without paying. To add to the difficulty im moving house and they do not charge to do this but insist on beginning a new 18 month contract. Does anyone know if I can get out of my talktalk contract before I move as I do not want a new 18 month contract.
Thank you

If it's time of day-specific, then it's a contention issue, absolutely nothing you can do about it, except change to a decent ISP. Since you are moving house, cross your fingers that the new area will be better in terms of contention for TT..
Otherwise cut your losses, pay the ETC and sign up with someone decent at the new address.
Why do you think TT is so cheap?
No, you can't void your contract without paying an ETC.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Macman, do you know of any sites that you can get the ratio information from for each ISP in specific areas?0 -
I was with talktalk before I moved house ten months ago and transferred to my new address my b/band and home phone as i had been happy with service etc. I was informed that as I had moved I had to have a new contract as the contract was with the old address, implying that the old contract was null and void, foolishly I agreed and had no b/band for eight weeks, the service has now improved, but if you move can you find out b/band speed etc. on speedchecker it may give you an idea what to expect0
