Bought item on eBay and already sold it.

Bought an item on eBay yesterday and was really happy as it was just what I have been looking for for ages. As I was at work I was bidding on my mobile. Got home to log in to eBay on my laptop only to find a message from seller 2 hours before auction end stating that item had been sold and to ensure I remove my bid before the auction ends, which I couldn't have done on my mobile anyway if I had seen the message. At least they will have their fvf's to pay but would you also leave a neg too as I bought the item and now it's not available

Personally I would ponder feedback for a few days before leaving any. However it is worth remembering that seller could easily have cancelled your bid himself if he could have been bothered.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Which is why im a bit p****d off. If seller had cancelled my bid and ended the auction himself then I wouldn't have got my hopes up. Instead I was already trying to sort out a family member to help me pick item up as large item and I thought I had won it, then get home to find it had gone.0

Time wasting sellers like this are annoying so I would definitely leave negative feedback to warn others.0

If your uncomfortable with a neg you could leave a neutral which says 'removed item from safe 2 hours prior to auction end - very disappointed'.0
-
You wouldnt have been able to remove your bid once the item had less than 12 hours and i think the seller wouldnt have been able to cancel it without ending it early.
Its very annoying when sellers do this!0 -
That's incredibly dishonourable and although I've never yet given a negative feedback to anyone I've bought from, if I were you, I'd neg him.0

If sellers were still able to leave negs for buyers, what do you think you would have received in the way of feedback if you had won the auction then told the seller that you weren't interested any longer as you had bought a cheaper or better item elsewhere?
Neg them and maybe they won't be so quick to do it to another buyer next time.0 -
People like that get everything they deserve, stonker of a neg coming that guy's way0

Thanks for the advice. Just wanted to see if others thought a neg was deserved and not just me being unreasonable when angry. The item was £68 so they will have the fees to pay for that too.0

Neg is deserved IMO, out of interest was it listed as "advertised elsewhere" not that is should make a difference. It acutally annoys me when I see that and puts me off bidding, so was just wondering.0
