More of a question than a problem

It's been around 6 years since i had a contract/pay monthly phone, so i was just wondering if the monthly payment system is still the same, ill give an example.

the last time i had a contract phone, my original bill/monthly payment was £15 a month, with xxx number of texts and minutes, and if i went over those amounts i would be charged for the extra fees, for example if i had 300 texts as soon as i used 301 i would start being charged for the extra texts. is that still the system, i had a very bad experience the last time i had a contract phone, and im thinkin about getting one now for work purposes. as for the tariff its very basic 200 minutes (which ill never use because i never call anyone) and unlimited texts for £15.50 a month. and if i worked it out right, my bill will always be £15.50 because ill only be using the texts.

or did i just work that out wrong. :rotfl:

You worked out everything just fine. The system is pretty much the same.

    Thanks for the reply =]

i looked through the small print and the only instance of fair usage i could find was this

    "Subject to fair use policy.
The usage rates above are indicative. Due to the VAT increase to 20% on the 4th January, many charges are now fractions of pence."

To be honest thats just gibberish to me.

You say you'll never use the 200 minutes as you don't call anyone.

"unlimited" often means 3000 texts, can vary between suppliers.
many are beginning to ditch the term unlimited and state 3000 or 5000 texts each month.

Presumably you are getting some kind of "free" handset with that deal? Because if not, you should probably be aware unlimited texts are possible for £5/month.
