SAR to B'card- No statements but odd printouts instead?

Hi,
I recently sent a SAR to Barclaycard with a £10 cheque and instead of statements (as i was expecting) i have received reams of complicated-to-understand printouts with codes and phrases that do not explain anything to the layperson.
I rather suspected i had 'Cardholder payments protection' years ago with them you see but these pages of data do not help at all.
Please can i ask has anyone else had this problem and can i do anything about it please?
Thank you.

Get in touch with them and tell them you need this data in full and in plain terms, how do they expect someone to know what this means?.0

Not sure that will help.
The Data Protection Act only requires them to give a dump of the data held. They are under no obligation to interpret it for you.0 -
Ok, Thanks for that.
What a pain!!
Do you think they will respond if i ask them another way?
IE- Dear Barclaycard, please can you tell me of any 'Card protection'/'Cardholder payment protection' I have ever had on my Barclaycard aswell as any charges?
Do they legally have to tell me please?0 -

What a cop out!, this is the first poster that has asked on here about Sar info that does not make any sense at all, not even a statement or agreement.0 -

It will not hurt to ring them and ask this question, you never know, you may just get someone who can help you with this info.0 -

It is a trade off. The Law places a limit on the charge that can be made. If you want an interpretation then that takes time and time is money.
You MIGHT get an interpretation but do not expect it for £10.0 -
I too received reams of what seems to be useless info to me, but it did have 3 account numbers in it. I did then fill in 3 questionaires and send them off to Barclaycard. The following day I received from 1 of the accounts all the info from that account but still haven't received the other 2. I have now received from Barclaycard a letter to say they are dealing with my claim and have until a certain date in May to respond.0

Thanks mt7x2,
Please can i ask, if the info was useless, what did you put down on the PPI form?0 -
They don't really need anything other than the account numbers of the loans in question. It's your reasons for believing you were mis-sold which are the important factor. Thanks mt7x2,

If you have strong and legitimate reasons for complaint then do so, but do be sure you actually had PPI, of course!0 -

That's correct - they have eight weeks from receiving a complaint to respond to it (which means getting the response in the post, rather than to you).0
