Wise to switch from Sky to BT Infinity?

Hi all,

I'm currently at wits end trying to decide if I should switch ISP's, especially now that BT Infinity is in my area with friends local who get 37mb speeds, compared to my 2mb connection which is a hassle.

At the moment, our TV and Broadband is with Sky, and phone with BT which equates to:

TV Packages: £25
Broadband: £15
BT Anytime Phone: £60 every quarter with Line rental included (so £20 a month)
Total: £60

And if I were to switch to BT, a rough calculation would give me:

Sky TV: £25
BT Infinity with Evening and weekend calls: £26 (first 3 months @ £20)
£10 line rental
Total: £60

Should I stick with Sky or Switch to BT? And are there any discounts they'd offer for switching to them or for being a phone customer already?

Many thanks in advance

Sky will be offering Fibre Optic (FTTC) broadband from April in BT infinity areas, so ther is no real need to move ISPs, just an upgrade.

    From the website:- https://fibre.sky.com/shop/broadband-talk/broadband-options/sky-fibre-broadband/

    • Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre launches in April

From April we're introducing Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre to people who live in a fibre network area. Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre will cost £20 a month for new and existing customers taking Sky Talk calls and Line Rental.

You could benefit from having faster broadband speeds if you live in a busy household with lots of people using the internet through a number of different devices all at the same time. You may also benefit if you use the internet for 'heavy' online activities, such as HD streaming, certain types of high responsive games or downloading very large files. If your line can't currently support fast broadband, fibre optic broadband could also be a good choice.

If you think Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre could be right for you please enter your details below and to be kept informed of fibre optic broadband developments from Sky.
We ask for your landline number so we can check fibre availability in your area.

Limited coverage, fibre network areas only. Sky Broadband Unlimited Fibre will be on sale on sky.com/broadband from 12 April. £50 standard set-up. Wireless router self-set up required otherwise £30 extra. Sky Talk calls packages £0-5 a month. Sky Line Rental £12.25 a month. Compatible line required for Sky Talk otherwise connection charge from £39 may apply. 12 month minimum subscriptions apply. Speeds vary with location and line quality. External factors such as internet congestion can affect speed.
    • PS Why are you paying £15/ month for Sky Broadband? You should only be paying £7.50. Ahh just noticed you still have the phone with BT, however as a Sky customer even then you should only be paying £12.50.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
