Cheaper isn't always better or cheaper in the long run (if that makes sense) I've been through most litters for my 6 and always ended up going back to Catsan. It may initially be more expensive but it holds odours better so with scooping lasts far longer.

Sainsburys do a good clumping litter which is £2.18 for an 8L bag - I empty the mess and top it up daily and a bag lasts about 3-4 weeks. Not too dusty and masks smells well.

I like clumping, the cheaper the better. I dont find it too dusty. I take the whole litter box outside to scoop clumps and poo, then top up, twice daily. My cats don't throw it about so no dust.

Tesco and Morrisons about the same price, £1.54 for 10kg bag. Sainsbugs 8kg, at about £1.30. I have just changed to Home Bargains 10kg for £1.29. I have three cats and six litter boxes. Need that many because I have a doddery old cat who gets confused.

PS You can get covered litter boxes which would contain the dust.

  • We use Litter Purrfect from Costco, clumping with lemongrass scent and baking soda to help remove smells. Because it's really good quality we just scoop daily, the majority of the litter lasts ages! Use a hooded cat-loo so that helps, though they still tread it out... need a litter-mat really.

We use Sophisticat non clumping pink litter

£8 - 9 for 30 litres, lasts about 2 months, we change it about 2 twice a week, but scoop out the solids with nappy sacks and bin those as and when the 'occur'

It is quite dusty, but it does a decent job.

I like the sound of the Costco Lemon Grass one, might have to try that.

I have to admit a funny story, once I ran out, so we trying to find something I had in to use in an emergency and I had a total brain f*rt and put some flour down!!!!!!!! Can you imagine cat wee dough! uggh!
