The main drive has always been in. And thats all whats in atm i took my slave drive out.

The main HDD is set to and has always been set to select.

It still happens now and once i hit F1 it boots up to windows like normal. But i have to hit F1 all the time which is not right.
  • Disable the detection for the second disk in the bios, or put the drive back in

There is only 1 drive in there now the main one with windows xp on it.
  • disable the detection in the bios

  • the machine might be looking for the removed hdd first , it then looks for the second as configured , doesnt matter which has the os on as it will just skip the first and boot from the second , are both hdd's set to master.

if you have a little nic out of the ide cables then just select everything to cs.
  • You need to set Disk 1 to either Not-fitted or Auto-detect in the BIOS. For the IDE bus first (primary) channel, the master disk is normally Disk 0 and slave disk is Disk 1.

Ok guys starting to get on my nerves now lol

The main HDD was set to auto so changed it to off and that did not even load up.

    And still here now.

I only have the main drive installed atm. All cables are fine and intact

If the drive is not detected by the BIOS, it will not load up! Do you have any jumpers on the drive? i.e. master.
