  • He's hilarious! And one of his transactions ended with his seller saying: "Buyer returned a box filled with carpet squares. eBay closed case in my favor."

How do you find these people when you are not using eBay any more?

I wonder how many sellers check the BUYERS feedback.

    Obviously it would pay.

This guy is a BLATENT crook and doesn't give a damn - And neither do Ebay, obviously.

Personally I think we worry about feedback more than our buyers and sellers do.

I wonder how things would be without it?

The idea was a good one but it's implementation is flawed in the extreme.

Like any other website or shop I suppose.

I think feedback keeps sellers honest - and it keeps costs e.g. postage down. But it's really not the be-all and end-all of shopping, even online.

I just bought a jam doughnut at Greggs. The shopkeeper did not ask me for a book of references, nor did they ask me to show them what references I left the Polish delicatessen on Thursday just to check it was safe to sell me a cake. Neither does Amazon, or Play, or the printer ink website I bought from on Friday.

It amazes me how much people expect things on eBay to be different from normal rules of commercial business, or to know everything about their buyers before they are 'happy' to sell to them. Strikes me as a bit paranoid and makes me wonder how you'd cope without a feedback system at all so you couldn't snoop on your buyers and gain a load of half-stories about previous transactions.
