I have a 1.6 i30 automatic (petrol) and it is excellent value. The auto box is a proper torque converter and is very smooth and responsive. I love it. The petrol consumption is not great (around 35 mpg overall) but diesel would of course be much better. I only do 10,000 miles a year, so petrol is fine for me.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Any feedback on 2012 i30 diesel auto, advertised mpg for this car is
    56. I know the real world figures will be different. But so far this is the most economical automatic car out there diesel/petrol

I'm looking forward to the comments.

Mixed reports on them, the vast majority of people are very happy and wouldn't go back to a manul/conventional automatic.

I was thinking about getting one myself so have done a lot of online research.I like the idea of how they drive but ultimately I would pick a manual, "just in case".

I wouldn't say it's "mixed", barge poles come to mind!

That's before you've factor in how marginally reliable the engine it's bolted to is as well....

coz it has the 5y warranty, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

That's ok if you don't mind it being in the garage when you own it, then having scrap value when you try to sell it. They don't have a good reputation.

The Problem with the Mondeo diesels is they go like stink, so the performance does come at some MPG sacrifice.
