Holiday in Cuba

I remember when we went to Mexico we were told to avoid going around now, as its spring break. I didnt realise Cuba was the same.
I quite fancy Cuba this year myself.
The carribean is very rainy, it usually rains at some point every day especially in the summer as its the rainy season, but its alot cheaper aswell. Its never spoiled our holidays though.£100 - £10,0000 -
when i was there a couple of weeks ago it rained twice on the first week and then 2 and a half days on the second week
it wasnt just the odd spot of rain either.
it rained solidly for over 2 days
and there aint nowt to do in the cayo's if you have rain
esp if theres high winds as well.
all in all a right let down.credit card bill. £0.00
overdraft £0.00
Help from the state £0.000 -
So why bother going to Cuna (or even Cuba?)
You could pick any beach anywhere (that's warm) as you're not going to see any local sights, people or food.
Get a cheap flight to one of the Costa's I'm sure you'll feel at home there.
because we have been to several of the Costa's and fancied a change and I believe the beaches are out of this world:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0 -
Thank you for all for taking the time to reply. I think I need to rethink this. September is the start of hurricane season so Cuba will have to wait for another year

We went to Cuba last year in Sept staring on the 18th, there was one amazing night of a tropical storm but apart from that, the weather was scorching
We were in the Sirenis in Holguin, food was good, beach & sea where amazing, there are a few stairs to contend with but not a massive amount.
There where a lot of Canadians and the week after we left, we where told that there would be 1000 arriving.
The Caribbean is fab for holidays, we have been Dom Rep, Mexico & Cuba always in SeptMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

I wouldnt let the hurricane season put you off, we went to St Lucia in hurricane season and even though we were caught by the tail end we only had half a day of rain/wind once it had passed (they move pretty fast) and we were back on the beach the following morning
£100 - £10,0000 -
They are nice but not so nice after a big storm when they are covered in sea junk! That was also in Sep, at the end of the month.I believe the beaches are out of this world
It's not that its hurricane season, it's rainy season too which is more likely to disrupt your stay. Good call to have a rethink.
Also at that time of year the evenings are extremely humid. Nothing like sitting out at a bar sweating your socks off....

I dislike all inclusives as I do not feel that you get to see much of the country and if all you want to do is lie on a beach then it does not really matter where you are.
Cuba is a fascinating country with a rich and varied culture most of it well away from the beaches. Havana is a Unesco world heritage sight with echos of the colonial past and evidence of the revolution all around. There is a vibrancy of live music in all the bars and restaurants in all the major towns as well as an insight into the only true communist country in the world.
Sorry have I lost you? Then any beach anywhere will do0 -

Horses for courses eh? It wouldn't do for us all to like/want to do the same; IMHO the above remark comes across as a tad condescending if I'm honest!
Additionally, if all you want to do is have some time out in a gorgeous tropical beach setting then Cuba is very likely a good deal cheaper than somthing similar in Europe and this is MSE after all!

I thought it was condescending as well, and quite uncalled for.0
