I'm making colcanon for the first time for dinner tonight............but what goes best with it?? And are there any Irish puds?? :undecided

We always had boiled bacon or gammon with colcannon in our house - for some reason it was the traditional Irish Halloween meal at home.

Spuds are traditional Irish fare full stop - there are lots of Irish varieties available as seed potatoes to grow but I'm not sure any of them will be on sale in British supermarkets. Maris Piper or any other floury potato would be best for colcannon. :-)

Thanks GA, I had some red potatoes and it seemed to work, although to be fair I'm not 100% what it's meant be like ;)
